Η Ελισάβετ Τελτσίδου αποκλείστηκε στο δεύτερο γύρο από την Cvjetko (Κροατία), που κέρδισε τελικά το χάλκινο μετάλλιο, ενώ ήταν δεύτερη στο πρόσφατο παγκόσμιο πρωτάθλημα του Οκτωβρίου. Ο Θεόδωρος Τσελίδης ηττήθηκε στον πρώτο γύρο από τον Gviniashvili (Γεωργία). Η συνέχεια στην προσπάθειά τους για ολυμπιακή πρόκριση θα δοθεί τη νέα χρονιά.

Το προηγούμενο Σάββατο στη Θεσσαλονίκη, ο Απόστολος Σίσκος πέτυχε το όριο για το παγκόσμιο πρωτάθλημα της Φουκουόκα στα 200μ. ύπτιο, σημειώνοντας νέο πανελλήνιο ρεκόρ εφήβων, με χρόνο 1.57.94. Βελτίωσε το 1.58.66 που είχε από τον Αύγουστο.

Με τη 16η θέση του Ανδρέα Βαζαίου στα 400μ. μικτή ολοκληρώθηκαν οι ελληνικές συμμετοχές σε αυτό το παγκόσμιο πρωτάθλημα. Ο Βαζαίος δεν κατάφερε να πλησιάσει το ρεκόρ του στο αγώνισμα και έκανε χρόνο 4.11.39.

Το παγκόσμιο πρωτάθλημα 25άρας πισίνας ξεκίνησε την Τρίτη στη Μελβούρνη. Ο Απόστολος Χρήστου πήρε την 5η θέση στα 100μ. ύπτιο, με χρόνο 49.68. Στον ημιτελικό είχε πετύχει πανελλήνιο ρεκόρ με 49.66, βελτιώνοντας το 49.87 που είχε από πέρσι. Σήμερα, προκρίθηκε στα ημιτελικά των 50μ. ύπτιο και εκεί με επίδοση 23.05, βρέθηκε στην 8η θέση μαζί με τον Acevedo (Καναδάς) και τον Armstrong (ΗΠΑ). Σε περίπου δύο ώρες, θα πραγματοποιηθεί αγώνας κατάταξης και ο νικητής θα προκριθεί στον τελικό. Στον τελικό των 100μ. μικτής ως 4ος προκρίθηκε ο Ανδρέας Βαζαίος. Στον ημιτελικό έκανε 51.47 και πέτυχε πανελλήνιο ρεκόρ. Την Τρίτη είχε μείνει 10ος και εκτός τελικού στα 200μ. μικτή, με χρόνο 1.53.08.

Η Δέσποινα Γεωργιάδου προκρίθηκε στα ημιτελικά και εξασφάλισε μετάλλιο στο grand prix της Ορλεάνης. Θυμίζω ότι πέρσι είχε κερδίσει το χρ΄υσό μετάλλιο σε αυτή τη διοργάνωση. Σήμερα, κέρδισε την Sano (Ιαπωνία) με 15-11, την Toledo (Μεξικό) με 15-9, την Perez (Αργεντινή) με 15-12 και στα προημιτελικά την Girardin (Γαλλία) με 15-2. Στον ημιτελικό θα αντιμετωπίσει τη Γαλλίδα Apithy-Brunet, που πήρε το χάλκινο μετάλλιο στους ολυμπιακούς αγώνες του Τόκιο. Η Δώρα Γκουντούρα αποκλείστηκε στις 16. Κέρδισε την Battiston (Ιταλία) με 15-9 και την Berder (Γαλλία) με 15-7, αλλά έχασε από την Girardin με 15-14. Here it's been a mess... I don't have exact numbers, but it's been a mess... For the first time since world cup started being broadcasted live, our public TV lost the rights. The broadcaster that won, announced some months ago that they would show just half of the matches on TV, a total of 32 matches in the whole tournament. All the other matches would be available only on their streaming platform. The problem is that their streaming platform has a subscription and in fact, quite an expensive one. Personally, I didn't even think to subscribe, since I don't have time to watch many matches anyway. The opening match was brodcasted live on TV and the first match scheduled exclusively on their platform was England-Iran. And who would have guessed... Website went down within minutes from the match start. Since then, they have been showing every match on TV, as their website keeps crashing out. Today and after facing quite an enormous backlash, it was announced that they have abandoned the initial plan and all matches will continue to be broadcasted live on TV.
