Ok, it's time for an inspirational story. American swimmer, Gary Hall Jr was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1999. He took a short break from competitive swimming, then he returned and went on to win Olympic gold in the 50 freestyle, in both 2000 and 2004. To date, he is one of only two men who has successfully defended an Olympic title in the 50 freestyle. He also won several medals in relays. Obviously, I'm not posting this to raise expectations about Fernstadt, but to show an example, that nothing is impossible in sport. Of course, Fernstadt will do what is best for her health. Just don't give up hope that she might continue her career.

Yes, I agree on that. I just want to see national trials in figure skating some day, like the ones other sports have, because for me that's the best way to decide the olympic team. That's why I hate seeing someone like them or Malinin finishing at a spot, which would give qualification, if there were national trials, but it doesn't with the current qualification process.

We know a Finnish athlete gave a positive test in Antholz. IBU announced it on 23 January. Finland's roster was announced on 24 January. I presume, they were aware who the positive athlete is, when they named the team. If Janka is positive and they include her in the roster, they probably have indications, that she will be able to compete.

There are three covid cases in the training camp of the ROC team, in Krasnoyarsk. One is Egor Bazin, who is/was first alternative in ice dance with Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva. Their coach is also positive, Khudaiberdieva is negative, for now. The third case is not named, but it is reported to be someone from Alexei Mishin's coaching team.

Συγκεκριμένα, κέρδισε την Mukae (Ιαπωνία) με 15-9, την Cieslar (Πολωνία) με 15-12, την Passaro (Ιταλία) με 15-9 και στα προημιτελικά την Sheveleva (Ρωσία) με 15-13. Μετά το τέλος του παγκοσμίου, οι παίκτες θα ξαναγυρίσουν στους συλλόγους και μετά ξανά στις εθνικές για το ευρωπαϊκό. Θα δούμε πως θα επηρεαστούν τόσο οι εθνικές ομάδες όσο και οι σύλλογοι από αυτό το ιδιαίτερο πρόγραμμα. Για τις εθνικές, θα είναι μια καλή ευκαιρία για να προετοιμαστούμε κατάλληλα για την επόμενη χρονιά που θα αρχίσουν να δίνονται και ολυμπιακά εισιτήρια. Για τους συλλόγους, ο Ολυμπιακός στους άνδρες θα είναι σχεδόν σίγουρα στο final 8 του Champions League. Εκεί κάθε παιχνίδι θα κρίνει τα πάντα, θα δούμε τι μπορεί να γίνει. Στις γυναίκες και οι δύο ομάδες με την παρουσία τους στα προημιτελικά της ευρωλίγκας έχουν εξασφαλίσει θέση στο final 4 του LEN Trophy.
