  1. Why are they playing music during the race?
  2. For far too long, Canada was dead in athletics and swimming, not to mention gymnastics. Those are the three biggest events, so it was not great.
  3. Also, not to be arrogant (because I personally have nothing to do with it), but if Canada brought their A-teams in every event they would get many more golds. We don't even have a 4x100 relay team here on the track.
  4. You're correct. We also don't produce many multi-medalists. Like a Phelps or Bolt, to use obvious examples. Rio was the first time in a long time I remember Canada having multiple-medalists.
  5. Meanwhile, Canada is pretty weak. Maybe a couple of chances in rowing tomorrow. An upset in a team sport (Canada is a strong 2nd in field hockey, water polo, softball and maybe basketball, but hard to come away with a gold). Going to have to muster something in wrestling, BMX, and athletics to keep up. It just seems that there is always someone better in everything, hence all the silvers. Canada is good at team sports, but there is always one country better, that sort of thing.
  6. Came here to say the same thing. Sage is listed as the winner on the official results page again. Yay!
  7. Watching the feed, they have no idea, no reason given. I'm sure they're busy coming up with something. (Sorry, I'm in a terrible mood today).
  8. It is. But I had a feeling. I was away from my computer, but decided I had to be back for this race.
  9. It's getting better now. 13-10 for Canada in the 4th.
  10. Yeah, okay, nevermind. At least he made the final, I guess.
  11. He did finish 4th in the 200m, coming in as the 4th fastest qualifier. But I'll wait to see the prelims at least to judge his chances.
  12. The Canadian, Acevedo, has the fastest qualifying time going into the men's backstroke today. Wonder how that'll work out. Our men haven't been the strongest.
  13. Interesting strategy by Canada to go with the female swimmers at the start. It did not pay off at all, of course.
  14. After two nights, Canada hasn't medaled in only 1 event for women's (200m free), and Ackman finished 4th there. Still no golds, though.
  15. Victor now 29 points ahead of Pierce for silver. By my calculations... Pierce has to beat Victor by 4-5 seconds in the 1500m to take the silver.
  16. Unless one of them throws a monster javelin in the last round, it'll come down to whomever finishes first in the 1500m between Pierce and Victor for silver.
  17. At least Romani delivers a PR in the last round.
