Canada can't win a gold medal these Olympics, this is going to end up being Canada's worst Olympics in a a couple decades at this rate xD
Also remember when was having bad Olympics? Everything is going their way now.
Winning golds in 2 new events certainly helps, with maybe one more to come.

Lindsey grabbed her board on the final jump!

We had the brilliant luge relay yesterday. Today we have the utterly rubbish snowboard cross relay.
But quite a race by Charlotte Bankes

My schedule for the evening
8pm - Women's Curling (haven't decided which match I might key in on)
9pm - Mixed Team Snowboard Cross
10pm - Women's Downhill Training
11pm - CAN-USA Men's Hockey
1am - USA-NOR Men's Curling
2:30am - Cross-Country Women's 4x5km
3am - Speed Skating, Women's Team Pursuit
4am - Speed Skating, Men's 500m
4am - Biathlon, Men's 10k SprintI'll be watching all of this, but its a bare night for US EST prime time. It will likely be the worst viewership yet. I'm reduced to watching the replay of this morning's biathlon race with Chad and Bill on USA.

I think all three Russians will pull out of the ladies. The IOC will urge them to pull out as even then IOC can see how damaging this is. They could easily lose western sponsors over Doping.
If we are getting into conspiracies here, will all Western skaters threaten to pull out in the event Valieva competes?

I’m confused at how people thought a new aerial event would be a “free gold for China”. China is even better at chocking away Olympic golds in aerials than Canada is.
Alhough USA finally had the curse of Bergoust broken today.

I hope that Shiffrin can recover from these two DNF. Her quotes are not encouraging. She is doubting herself now.
Per the Washington Post, her mother is saying she may not race in the super-G because of concerns for her safety.

Have to imagine if they have the downhill tomorrow, they'll try and fit it in between the runs of the women's GS.
But that’s nw the official schedule, DH goes at noon local time Mon.

The voice sounds like the same guy that called the Diggins/Randall race in 2018. According to nbcolympics.com, it's Drew Lilley and Steve Robillard. I'm streaming it now. Biathlon without Chad Salmela doesn't do it for me anymore!
Have you looked to see if any biathlon will be live on NBC/USA?
-
OBS announcers not good, we aren’t getting the race on TV.

Going to be quad viewing the curling live on Wednesday morning, then the same thing for draw 2 on Wednesday evening then both the early women’s hockey games. Then bed.
Will be on Beijing time from day 1 to day 4 then on both the middle and final week-ends, but otherwise I’ll just be watching the early morning and late night events live.
Similar schedule, although due to work, I'll have to pack it in at the conclusion of W slalom run 2, around 2AM Tuesday night/W morning. Then on China Time middle weekend and last 6 days of Games.
2 minutes ago, Quaker2001 said:I don't have it in my to go to full on Beijing time, especially with work. But I'd be surprised if there's any night during the games I go to sleep much before 2am or 3am
Unfortunately, this is the first Winter Games where the President's Day holiday doesn't come in the middle weekend since they went to the three weekend schedule in 1988. Upside is I can take an extra day the Monday after to recover to get back on East Coast time.

Curious to see if Porino is in Stamford or Beijing. Either way, he's the most consistent thing in NBC's alpine coverage all these years.
Interestingly, Porinio has been doing all his WC announcing from his basement in Sun Valley.

First thing I did was check to see if Bode Miller was on there. He isn't, which is excellent (his commentary in 2018 was... not good).
Hope Porino is the main analyst, and Ligety has a more secondary role.

Do you know If it would work with a US VPN?
There might be an issue with paying the $5/month fee. I think you would need a USD credit card. But can't say for certain.

If I were king, I’d make it Squaw Valley 60 2.0, From a strictly sporting standpoint I think that’s an even greater upset. There was an article today pointing out that USA hasn’t beaten Canada in Olympics with non-NHL players since 1960.
