One would think the Olympic Solidarity money could be used to avoid this elbarrasing things.
 
Instead is used to pay for luxury accomodation and prostitutes for Bach & Co. (plus all the Aussie dollars already given by Brisbane)

Apart from weather which only impacts outdoor sports to various degrees, all of the others happen because of human error which has been part of sport contests since their inception. A highly infectious disease that you have zero control over is not comparable to any of the other factors, it's like if the Olympics would introduce a lottery at the events which results in athletes getting DNS without doing anything wrong and anything being visibly wrong with them or any of the officiating personnel making bad calls. 

I work in a school and I'm so lucky that this week and the next one we have the annual two-week winter break  (it was the same for Rio).
 
I want olympics in late July forever (except if someday we host).

I guess lots of us have been wondering what exactly is the view like from the other side of those Olympic rings. I was browsing through the  teams social media, and I found this rare pic of newly arrived athletes waiting their turn!
 

by the way, this is a clear proof of the Japanese hypocracy about the Games...
 
the Olympics must go on behind closed doors, but their regular activity, Basketball National team warmup matches included, can be played with at least 50% capacity crowd...in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, not on the Moon...

I got the Tokyo Game for PS4 few days ago.
 
It is pretty fun, especially with friends! Sadly, it’s only for two players local. (Four online – yes you need PSN+ to play online!).
 
As I saw some trailer, I thought the graphic style is horrible, but now I think it is fine. Not great, but also not terrible.  The character editor is nice and complex and you can have lot of fun designed hilarious characters. :D (It is even better then Cyberpunk 2077 where you only change your face, but cannot edit your body.)
Every event is somehow unique. Steering is done well. No event is unplayable as it used to be in some older games. Of course, it could be more sports, more events, but at some point, it would be repetitive or probably lacking quality.
 
Unfortunately, it is lacking some kind of single campaign, you can play events and progress through rounds and gets medal, but the game feels more like collection of fun mini games to play with friends and having fun.
 
Fortunately, it is a lot of fun. :D
 
 

Oh well. If you have the ESP Player, you can watch everything, live or delayed, with OBS commentary.
 
I get some painful flashbacks just remembering back when I was fully dependent on our national TV broadcaster...

Yes I will watch rowing. I already check because I was afraid to get up for nothing at 2:00 in the morning.
 
Unfortunately I already plan to watch all the softball and football games live. I already set up my five screens (I have two more to set up for the first week).

I have experience with Asian olympiades, It will be like PC 2018 when I missed almost nothing. I expect the same, Time to sleep from some cca16:00 to cca02:00, apart Day 14 with the 50km Race Walk starting 22:30 my time.
 
People who know me are always amazed, how I can keep watching the whole nights and half days for two weeks, well, my answer is always the same, If you are an Olympic fanatic like me, nothing is more easy than staying excited and focused the 2 weeks. The problem is rather that it is ONLY 2 weeks
 
But I am considering skip the -2 and -1 nights, since there not many things I can rewatch the softball later on demand, but from Day 0 I will be here from 02:00 with Archery Ranking round live score, be sure of that !

Actually I find it perfect when Olympics are during the night. Basically nobody else is awake then, so I can give my undivided attention to the Olympics and only communicate with people related to the Olympics instead of the usual daily things  (and have the groceries delivered, of course, although I already have 30 packs of noodles for nightly hunger )
