  1. No, I remember him perfectly well, but I don’t have the skilz to post two articles side-by-side.
  2. Dutch athletes are of course famous for their skill in distributing drugs: perhaps The Hague might want to consult them? https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/athletics/madiea-ghafoor-drug-trafficking-jail-sentence-ecstasy-crystal-meth-sprinter-olympics-a9185496.htmlhttps://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/athletics/madiea-ghafoor-drug-trafficking-jail-sentence-ecstasy-crystal-meth-sprinter-olympics-a9185496.html
  3. 2023 is too early, we’ll still be in lockdown for the eleventh wave.
  4. Good day for - Cavendish makes it a hat-trick in Turkey, Tom Pidcock gets the Brabantse Pijl. Van Aert needing a few weeks off, I think.
  5. As usual with copyright holders, they block collectors but don’t maintain a proper easily accessible archive of their own material.
  6. Mark Cavendish gets his first win in over three years in the Tour of Turkey. Race is cold & snow-affected at the moment, so various schedule & route changes. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/56716156
  7. The problem with a 50% rate is that it does not prevent a virus from becoming endemic. Many years ago I did some work on measles in Scotland & our target was 90% coverage in children, which was considered enough to eliminate the disease. (We got there for a few years in the early 90s, but fell away to about 75% later.)
  8. It’s one of these impossible debates. There’s so much more sweepers do now compared to even 10 years ago, never mind thirty.
  9. There’s a difference between “doesn’t work at all” & “works, but has side effects that are only noticeable after a million doses.” Does kind of indicate that whatever pre-release testing was done on the Chinese vaccine was not.....thorough.
  10. BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-56713663
  11. The Chinese vaccine is pretty much useless. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9460177/China-admits-Covid-jabs-not-effective-major-blow-global-health-battle.html
  12. Just caught up. Tight game in the final, but unfortunately a single.stone not crossing the hog line in the 9th end led to a 5 stone score for & a surrender for . Good tournament overall for us, with our best play in the knock-out games.
  13. The opposite for us. We were a bad state in 2018 & 2019, have obviously coped well with lockdown & are now getting back to Rio form.
  14. Just caught up with that from last night. A 9th & 10th end for the ages from Scotland, fantastic play.
  15. You’d think they’d be happy with all the new species of fish they’re going to get.
  16. Could have been worse. At least he didn’t stab himself.
  17. More içi. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/56672564
  18. I suggested “The Team of the Moscow Patriarchate” months ago.
  19. That’s some London 2012 crowds there. Greeks hungry for live Olympic sport after a 1500 year lockdown.
  20. There are still many authorities refusing to do them.
  21. If that were the case, then it should be trivially easy to organise recounts & ballot audits. Yet everywhere in the USA and even Burma now we see voting authorities & courts moving heaven & earth to prevent or forbid such recounts.
  22. Just caught up. Two great races, not the processions we sometimes get. Incidentally, all that land there is polder - the town of Ely was an island & all the rest was dangerous malarial swamp until the mid 19th century.
  23. And this is why I never bet on sport.
  24. Think the van der Poel family can get the champagne out of the fridge now.
  25. Massive crowds on the Kwaremont https://www.kwaremont.be/en
