    Got to blame the relay runners - they had 20 points guaranteed even if they walked through the changes, instead they stupidly went for fast times.

    Very exciting overall - every single team is either still in contention for the win or battling relegation. Ha! Well done the Norwegian steeplechaser - tripped, fell, got back up and took the lead back!

    Terrible disaster for the Irish girl in the 100m hurdles - was up and contending for a top three finish, hit a hurdle, came to a dead stop and had to walk in for two points. f five points of course. Into the relegation zone...

    Irish women's relay improve unexpectedly as Netherlands and Norway both fail to finish! Or in fact the Norwegians do manage to finish, but might get DQFed because there a rules governing a dropped baton.

    They got 5 points even with the DNS, but they are going to be down. Like I say, Poland or France for the win. Poland have won the men's event in the old European Cup before, but only Germany and Russia have ever won the new format.

    I make it between Poland & France for the win, Polish field eventers will probably be too good for France. Saw the sprint heats last night, Germany & Britain haven’t sent their best. Italy have lots of very good sprinters now but weak in other areas. Spain usual 75% Cuban team. Theres’s also streaming of two lower division meets - the one in Norway looks very good, Norway, Netherlands, Turkey, Belgium etc. www.eurovisionsports.tv
