  1. Very high-powered Marathon & half marathon coming up in Valencia on Sunday. Details Here https://www.valenciaciudaddelrunning.com/maraton/maraton/
  2. Stina Nilsson trying to decide between & now.
  3. Not the miracle from Eckhoff 3/5. Think she could have won with 5/5, Oeberg was not great on lap 3.
  4. Game on! Eckhoff clear, but speed is a bit down.
  5. She is also top rapper Cardi B.
  6. Was joking. Strange complaint from a Polish person, though. Oeberg gets the lead, but again was tiring on the third lap Justine can’t make it a double for team Bouchet.
  7. Herrmann blows a pdoium on Shot 20, Chevalier gets it! Faster skis than Herrmann as well, impressive stuff. Valja Semerenko must have gone 0 0, into second. Wow, brilliant from Oeberg, big lead!
  8. Bjoentegaard digs himself out of the basement with 0 0 from bib 106.
  9. Turning into a good day for the smaller nations, Weger not far off JTB. Wow, Tarjei hammers it. Obviously a poor last lap for JTB. Klemen Bauer has improved his shooting. Unfortunately, his skiing is now worse.
  10. I think JT Boe can give away one shot to anyone in the field, so that’s going to be the win. Well, except his brother of course. Good day again for Christian Gow
  11. Fak gets on the TV at last, shoots clear!
  12. Wind gauge returns to its “nothing better to show you” role.
  13. Well, believes in a science and has millions in the Gulag.
  14. Oh definitely, there have been many races won - Olympic Golds even - won by a late starter after a weather change.
  15. Just thank the Lord you are not participating in a forum discussing Sri Lankan cricket.
  16. Actually Slavic names are easy to pronounce once you’ve learnt the basic spelling rules for each of the dozen or so languages. Only takes about eighteen months of work, but it’ll serve you for the rest of your life.
  17. I would say people in China knew before then. Here in Scotland in the first two weeks in January suddenly a LOT of middle-aged Chinese people arrived to stay with their children studying in our Universities. The supermarkets & streets near me (around Edinburgh Uni) were absolutely full of them. I’d never seen so many at any time - they knew things were bad. Nobody comes to Scotland in January to see the sights.
  18. Try pronouncing my cousin’s daughter’s name - Caoimhe. 95% of Scottish people can’t do it. (It’s Kiva - Кива)
  19. Oh dear. Team rules are rules, I suppose, no favourites. Will keep the race interesting till the end, though.
  20. For sure there is always the chance of catching it; lots of athletes have. But for fit people under the age of 60, the chances of serious consequences - severe illness, death - are indeed of much less then a severe car crash. Not including Peter Northug here, obviously.
  21. Those can only be accurately counted for the Individual 20k & 15k races where they add one minute for every missed shot. They definitely showed those on screen on Saturday. For all other races, coaches & athletes generally reckon 25 seconds per miss, (but it’s probably 22-27 depending on the athlete) so that gives you a quick approximate measure. If you can do some Excel magic, extract & add together the three loop times, which excludes shooting times & penalty loops altogether. That would be the most precise.
  22. Lots of first-time victories coming.
  23. Literally more chance of getting in a car crash on the way to the race.
  24. Dunno how many people COVID has killed on the IoM, but the bike races always take off 2-3 a year.
