  2. Bad night for Duplantis in windy conditions, 5.62 is all he can do.
  3. Great to see things are pretty much normal in , big crowds, no masks… Warholm in the 400m….deserves his place in the relay team, shall we say.
  4. Every day is a new challenge for Sha’Carri Richardson’s PR advisors. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9927793/ShaCarri-Richardson-brands-Olympic-sprinter-FAKE-Felix-spoke-kindly-TV.html
  5. Lee Pearson wins again, he is the Michael Phelps of equine terpsichore.
  6. They’re constantly shuffling categories around, it’s never really fixed.
  7. Busy weekend with Lausanne tomorrow & Paris on Saturday. Lausanne preview & timetable. Crazily the Warholm flat 400m will be before the main TV broadcast starts. https://www.diamondleague.com/news/general/lausanne-five-things-to-look-out-for-1/ https://lausanne.diamondleague.com/startlistsresults/#baseFrame%23__athSchedule%23ScheduleInit%23Lausanne2021_CURRENTEVENT_JSON
  8. I’m sure we had it in London. Remember being very impressed how the horses distinguished between control & involuntary movements.
  9. Videos of last night’s action from the DL pre-meet from Eugene are available here. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/w276otvfbruo0mi/AAD8mpE9EHmdTXMZdd2i89Gja?dl=0
  10. Abandonado & surely a career ender at this point.
  11. The equivalent of McDonalds banning hamburgers. OnlyFans, which has become the go-to place for creators to post explicit photos and videos, is banning pornography starting October 1. The move, announced Thursday, is part of the UK-based company's changes 'to comply with the requests of our banking partners and payout providers,' an OnlyFans spokesperson confirmed to DailyMail.com in an email. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-9909787/OnlyFans-BAN-pornography-October-pressure-financial-backers.html
  12. This weekend sees the official Final Event of the 2021 Triathlon World Championship Series in Edmonton, . This is not the final TWCS event of the calendar year 2021, but the three postponed events from the early summer - Abu Dhabi, Hamburg, Bermuda - will now count towards the 2022 Champs. In the men's event, it's billed as a replay of the Olympic Final between Alex Yee & Kristian Blummenfelt, although many other combinations are mathematically possible. In the women's, it is Flora Duffy versus & the year's new discovery, Maya Kingma . There are also U-23 races, which will be a one-off World Championship after the last two seasons were lost. They're only available on PayTV though. https://wtcs.triathlon.org/
  13. Preview for Eugene this weekend. We get something we haven't seen since literally the 1980s - the Grand Showdown between the Olympic Gold Medallist and the pre-event Favourite who couldn't be there due to Reasons. Plus lots of other replayed finals and post-Olympic WR attempts. https://www.diamondleague.com/news/general/eugene-five-things-to-look-out-for-1/
  14. According to the UK press there has not been a second test yet. He’s going with the old favourite “mislabelled/contaminated batch” defense, which has never worked for anyone not directly employed by Nike.
  15. And as ever the will be expected to do all the work up till stage 18, and will get abandoned for the best rider on stages 19 & 20.
  16. I like the way this Denisov fellow thinks. If you are going to get fined, at least get full value for your CHF 100. How much is pulling the emergency cord to stop a train in Holland, I wonder?
  17. A couple of European nations not exactly covering themselves in glory in Kabul. https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/468309/#respond Always first in line when it comes to giving lectures on human rights to the Americans & Israelis, of course.
  18. Always difficult to predict. Lots of WB set months ago during the ultra-competitive US College season*. No guarantee that they’re near that form now. *Which involves many non-Americans, of course.
  19. Truly the best of all time in his position. Set many scoring records. Nobody else will ever get near to his better than a goal a game average for West Germany.
  20. GB implicitly excludes Northern Ireland.
  21. I don’t have a problem with that, given that shooters have pretty much the longest careers of any Olympic discipline.
  22. Olympics is normally two teams from top-level countries, so I’m sure they’ll take France over Angola or whatever. We got places in London although we are in there with & in any form of Volleyball.
  23. Triathlon WS resumes this weekend in Montreal It’s part of a Canadian double bill with Edmonton next weekend, sneaking in before cruel winter descends on the Land of Snows. They’re pioneering a new solo Super Sprint race format on Saturday, with a conventional Mixed Relay on Sunday. https://triathlon.org/ As usual it’s PayTV only if you don’t have VPN access to the BBC website. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/triathlon/56915545
  24. It’s a big event for , lots of our athletes get lottery funding & some are pretty well known. Wouldn’t put a figure on total medals, but certainly third or fourth place overall is what we’d be going for.
  25. You may want to see it, but how much time do spend training rhythmic gymnastics?
