  1. The one consolation for Team GB is that Thomas Bach (Gold, Fencing 1976) is on hand to offer some advice on how to get the best out of room service in Five Star Hotels.
  2. I do think this is part of the problem. The sport works fine at World Cup level where there’s dozens of races a weekend & you just get on with. 3. Sure, but did the judges under-mark her first two jumps? I think so.
  4. Think they got the tactics wrong & she should gave gone for that second. No point in putting in a safe but easy jump second.
  5. Thomas Bach (Gold Fencing 1976) is on hand to give the girls valuable tips on eating canapés at cocktail parties. “Never eat anything with mayonnaise: it will drip down your front”
  6. If you’re wondering why Sheffield, Charleroi, Nowa Huta & Pittsburgh are all unemployment blackspots now, this is where all the jobs went.
  7. In years to come Sara Takanashi will be able to sit down with Elise Christie & have a few beers & an argument about who had worse luck at the Olympics.
  8. We don’t know yet: places are reserved for medal winners then world cup position.
  9. I think France concentrate on having a strong team rather than star individuals. Every single Olympics at least one is guaranteed to do well, even if others flop.
  10. Suffering from having too many good athletes in the team therefore everyone had to work hard pre-Christmas to get selected. Then they blow out.
  11. Thomas Bach (Gold Fencing 1976) on hand to give some valuable speech-making advice to the winner.
