    Monobob has been specifically created to bring new & smaller (in bob terms) into the sport. Women’s Bob has had trouble getting established - some meets in post-Olympic years you only get 10-12 teams.

    I watched a whole pile of Russian historical shows under lockdown. They’re good. The Poles are always the bad guys. As soon as guys with moustaches (Russians have beards) show up, szpeaking Ruszian witz a liszp, accompanied by Catholic priests, you know there is trouble brewing in the Kremlin. English people are usually outrageously camp & speak with American accents, even in the 16th century. The Tsar always goes mad in the end.

    Anglo-saxons never get sick of mythological creatures, Japanese never get sick of samurai, French never get sick of bleak existential dilemmas amongst wealthy Parisians. Latin Americans never get sick of babes in bikinis fighting poverty and injustice.

    One thing I noticed today. Although we very often see 4-person heats, semis, & even B Finals ending with 2 Pens & 2 Finishers, has that ever happened in an Olympic final? Even in the Bradbury fInal, the others got up & finished. Or does the judges’ relentless Batman-like pursuit of Absolute Justice fall short of making the sport look stupid?
