  4. all qualify in baseball. was offered wild card and declined. Rest of the spots will be awarded at a qualification tournament in Brazil in June
  5. Kelita Zupancic, who would have qualified for Tokyo has retired. This also means Canada will not qualify for the team event, meaning only 9 nations are expected to compete in the debut of the event. https://judocanada.org/2021/02/25/kelita-zupancic-turns-page-on-athletic-career-to-focus-on-new-projects/
  6. Brent Seabrook, one time gold medalist in hockey (2010 Vancouver)
  7. What are the odds of the latter?
  8. " According to the FIS the aim is to bring this event to future World Championship and Olympic competition." rip
  9. Solid seventh place for Canada in the men's sprint.
  10. Why is that? Because no other Thai competed at the World's?
  11. Yes a reduction of 2-3 per event.
  12. becomes the second WCF member from Africa. They will compete in the Asia-Pacific region.
  13. Fun fact about the skier from Tanzania: he actually works for the IOC! Another fun fact: we went to the same university around the same time...so maybe I took a class with him without even knowing lol
  14. Only Australia really showed advanced interest. Is it fair that they get the games because they were the most advanced? Probably not. Also, if a country is really interested now would be the time to come forth. The games are not locked in Brisbane.
  15. Team Canada http://biathloncanada.ca/latest-news/biathlon-canada-announces-ibu-youth-junior-world-championships-team/
  16. team for the World Championships, a lot of newcomers. Florence Brunelle (Trois-Rivières, Que.) Courtney Sarault (Moncton, N.B.) Alyson Charles (Montréal, Que.) Danaé Blais (Châteauguay, Que.) Claudia Gagnon (La Baie, Que.) Charles Hamelin (Sainte-Julie, Que.) Steven Dubois (Lachenaie, Que.) Maxime Laoun (Montréal, Que.) William Dandjinou (Verdun, Que.) 17. Sorry I meant to say recently. Germany's last hosting was in 1972. All of the bigger countries have hosted an Olympiad since then.
  18. Too bad the only relevant country that hasn't hosted ( Germany) did not bid
  19. Maybe we can see an exotic country break through...
  20. I don't but the with the changes in bidding, you can talk with the IOC about future events too. The COC prefers a summer games, over winter and no surprise in that reasoning.
  21. What other team events were dropped? I noticed a team relay in long track. @heywoodu Curling mixed doubles gets additional quotas as well
  22. I'd like to think this is increasingly more likely. However, Toronto/Montreal are currently in discussions with the IOC so who knows.
