Frascadore isn’t entered in any events right? So by my reckoning, for Canada it’ll be between Kelly Deguchi (women’s 52kg) and Louis Krieber Gagnon (men’s 90kg) for one of the continental quotas?

They have a couple of medal chances though, and it’s not like Italy is a rowing powerhouse.

I’m sorry, I like all of the Italian users on here, but I don’t get why they’re complaining? They sent 23 rowers to Tokyo, and now improve on that with 32 (still a number much higher than many other nations), and they’re still complaining? That’s a huge number, I’d gladly swap places with them with our 11 athletes

Time for a weekly rundown of all the Canadians in action! NCAA Championships West/East 1st Round is on from May 22-25. In the west, we have Jeremiah Nubbe (men’s hammer throw/discus throw), Jasneet Nijjar (women’s 400m), Ella Clayton (women’s 400m), Rowan Hamilton (men’s hammer throw), Heather Abadie (women’s pole vault), Myles Misener-Daley (men’s 400m), Rori Deness-Lamont (women’s javelin throw), and Tianna Lostracco (women’s 1500m). I did notice no Michael Roth though. In the east, we have Christopher Morales-Williams (men’s 400m), Jalon White (men’s 400m), Savannah Sutherland (women’s 400m hurdles), Praise Aniamaka (men’s triple jump), Peace Omonzane (women’s triple jump), MacKenzy Pierre-Webster (women’s 400m), and Cassandra Williamson (women’s 800m) Today we have the Trond Mohn Games, where we’ll be seeing Alyssa Marsh, Lauren Gale, and Madeline Price in a rare women’s 300m outing, Kaila Butler in women’s hammer throw, and Ethan Katzberg in men’s hammer throw. On May 25, the Prefontaine Classic, where we’ll be seeing Camryn Rogers and Jillian Weir in women’s hammer throw, and we’ll also be getting the long awaited return of Alysha Newman in women’s pole vault. Full entry list isn’t out yet, so I’ll probably edit this section in a day or two. Also on May 25, another meet for Ethan Katzberg, he’s entered in the men’s hammer throw competition at Hallesche Werfertage.

Haven’t tried any of these, but I can tell you (at least from my perspective) that Horiatiki salata tastes much better without olives. My favourite olive dish isn’t on there actually, but I love a good Spaghetti alla Puttanesca. I could eat it everyday and still wouldn’t get sick of it.

My calculations were way off In women’s park, Fay Ebert is currently on 41060 points, 21500 ahead of Cho (first athlete outside of a quota spot) In men’s street, Matt Berger is on 80198 points, 46000 ahead of Caro (first athlete outside of a quota spot), Cordano Russell is on 81840 points (47600 ahead of Caro), and Ryan Decenzo is on 89959 points (54000 ahead of Caro) Should be enough to qualify all four of them to the Olympics, but we’ll see what happens in Budapest.

Canada defeat Turkey 3-1 in match 1 of Men’s VNL. First set score looks bad, and perhaps it was partly due to them being rusty but Turkey were also on fire (mainly Manderaci) digging everything. McCarthy was a pleasant surprise, and Maar was on fire from the service-line. We’ve already qualified for the Olympics but with the 6.86 ranking points we gain today, we improve our chances of getting into a more favorable pot by closing the gap to Cuba/Germany/Serbia. Side note, not sure why Schnitzer is the reserve, he’s one of the top options on this team.

Why the fuck is McCarthy in Where is Schnitzer??

In my mind, it doesn’t matter if they have a chance to medal, I want to see us qualify in as many events/sports as possible. If a medal contender fails to qualify though, just makes it that extra bit more disappointing.
