  1. NR for Raphael Pallitsch in the men’s 1500m in 3:33.59!
  2. OLYMPIC QUOTA ALERT!! Ruien Xiao qualifies for Paris in women’s epee (fencing) after receiving a reallocated host-nation quota!
  3. 20.09 SB for Andre DeGrasse in the men’s 200m! Did the double and still didn’t look tired afterwards.
  4. 1:43.51 WL for Djamel Sedjati in the men’s 800m!
  5. Ernest Obiena’s pole snaps on his 2nd attempt at 5.72m. He skips, and will have one attempt at 5.82m. Edit: Not to be, and he’ll finish well down in 7th place with a best mark of 5.52m.
  6. Alexander Doom continues his strong start to the season with a new PB of 44.44 in the men’s 400m, 0.01 off Borlee’s NR!
  7. Jordan Geist with another PB here in men’s shot put, with a best mark of 22.09m! (His previous PB was 21.74m, which was set at this competition)
  8. Great run by Lurdes Manuel in the women’s 400m, and she’s rewarded with a massive PB but most importantly an Olympic quota!
  9. Mageean already qualified for the Olympics in this event.
  10. MR for Molly Caudery in women’s pole vault, with 4.84m. Had 3rd attempt clearances at that and 4.74m.
  11. SBs for Andre DeGrasse and Jerome Blake in the men’s 100m at the Ostrava Golden Spike! 10.10 for DeGrasse and 10.19 for Blake.
  12. With Thailand’s 3-1 victory over Dominican Republic earlier today, Canada moves up to #9 in the Women’s World Rankings!
  13. With the latest update of the IJF rankings, it looks like Portuondo Isasi won’t be going to Paris. My apologies.
  14. Wrestling team officially announced. https://olympic.ca/2024/05/28/six-team-canada-wrestlers-will-take-to-the-mat-at-paris-2024/
  15. I’m not seeing either of them in the entry lists anymore, so it looks like Kelly Deguchi will get the continental quota in women’s 52kg. Would’ve preferred for it to be Frascadore
  16. Scarlett Delgado with a 5-0 win over Kenya in women’s 54kg to advance to the round of 16. Junior Petanqui lost 4-1 against Madoyan in men’s 71kg round of 32 action.
  17. On a more positive note, yesterday won 4 matches (at a Grand Slam) for what feels like the first time in a very long time And all of them were in straight sets too!
  18. beat 3-1 Eve is back for week 2, but still no Brenda or de la Cruz. Still, after coming off a loss to South Korea (prior to that match they were on a 30 match losing streak at VNL), with South Korea scoring 20 more points in that match, this is a huge surprise.
  19. Cross-posting this here as a big Canadian curling announcement happened today. Bottcher will be Team Homan’s new head coach, Bottcher will play mixed doubles with Homan heading into the next Olympic quad (guess I know who I won’t be cheering for), and Rachelle Brown is now the permanent alternate of the team.
  20. He’s not an alcoholic, I’m pretty sure that’s not the reason why it’s happened. I mean sure, he drinks beer from time to time (or wine) but nothing crazy. For some people that is the case however. His doctor told him that when he’s fully recovered, he won’t be able to drink any alcohol anymore though (he’ll also have to go on a reduced fat diet). Really unfortunate for him as I know how much he loves a good beer. Thank you for your kind words by the way
  21. Another update. My dad is still in the hospital recovering. He’s been there for about a month and a half so far. He’s doing much better than before, but still a while before he’ll be ready to come home. He has his good days and bad days, luckily it’s more good than bad. Actually, recently he’s made major strides in his recovery, he’s now walking, eating (soft) foods, and just a couple of days ago washed his body for the first time. I also visited him at the hospital for the first time since he got admitted (I’ve been quite busy, obviously I’ve been chatting with him on FaceTime), and while I was happy to see him, it just made me incredibly sad, I really really hate seeing him like this. I also don’t like hospitals in general though lol, have some bad memories from them. I will also point out that he does get exhausted after 10 minutes or so, so the visiting didn’t last long.
  22. Doesn’t United States play with an U17 team during this competition though?
  23. Canada secures a quota in women’s mountain biking through the Olympic Rankings!
