  1. While almost blowing a 18-12 lead
  2. Medal matches are set. v. for gold, and v. for bronze
  3. what are you doing?
  4. Well I don’t follow boxing, but I’m pretty sure both of the Canadians draws are good. Sanford would take on Martinez Ramirez in the quarterfinals, which he should win but maybe not, and then it’ll start to get tough with a semifinal against Oumiha/Garside. Thibeault would take on Michel in the quarterfinals (assuming no suspicious decisions by the refs because she’s a “French athlete”, she should win), and either O’Rourke/Bylon (she handily beat Bylon 5-0 in the gold medal match at the Pan Am Games)
  5. You’re delusional
  6. A medal maybe, gold absolutely not
  7. I agree with you, Kerr doing that was a shitty move. Wiggins was ready to compete for Canada, and the Warriors just said nope you’re not doing that anyways. Could also potentially be for his trade value, they’ve been shopping Wiggins a lot recently. Edit: By the way, I’m a Warriors fan lol.
  8. @Cinnamon Bun how likely is it for Oleksiak to qualify in the women’s 100m freestyle? She’s on 894 points. MacNeil is above her in the rankings but will likely decline her spot.
  9. He’s also represented Canada multiple times in international competition, including the Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Tokyo where he was one of the top scoring players Its not just you, but I’m not sure I get the “he and the Warriors are thinking of excuses, he doesn’t want to participate” argument. Also, if you read the CBC Sports article, GM Rowan Barrett has actually said “this was a team decision, not an Andrew decision” and that he’s been training for weeks and weeks to get ready for training camp and eventually the Olympics.

  12. Slater is usually accurate, but according to CBC Sports and Basketball Canada that decision wasn’t made by him. Ridiculous.
  13. So, just to recap, here’s the athletes that have qualified for the Olympic and Paralympic teams. I’ll do the calculations for the road to Paris athletes in a bit. 14. I mind, I don’t want to see him on any other team except the Canucks Always gonna be a fan of him regardless of what team he does choose to go to though.
  15. Nikita Zadorov won’t be resigning with the Canucks and will test the free agent market. Guentzel also likely to resign with the Hurricanes, so there goes another potential player for the Canucks. @Topicmaster1010
  16. Given we’re probably not making the final either way, I’d put the 16 year old Oppong-Nketiah on the roster for experience.
  17. You’re right, but actually I think the only discussion will be the 5th relay athlete out of Adjibi and Asemota. Maybe even Murray, depending on the severity of his injury. Brown, DeGrasse, Rodney, Blake have good experience together winning countless major medals, and will almost certainly make the team.
  18. In terms of athletes that are borderline qualifying for the Olympics through the rankings, or just barely out, it hasn’t really been a successful Olympic Trials for us so far (even overall) But it hasn’t all been bad, Katzberg’s 82.60m in men’s hammer throw, Newman’s 4.75m (and a very close 3rd attempt at 4.85m) in women’s pole vault, Oppong-Nketiah’s 11.38 and 11.39 in women’s U20 100m, Arop’s 1:43.53 in the men’s 800m semifinals, and 7558 points for Wilson in the men’s decathlon have been the highlights for me so far.
  19. Alysha Newman with a new outdoor SB of 4.63m in women’s pole vault! Even more impressive is that she’s done it with a clean scorecard! @Surlympics
