  1. 8961 points for Leo Neugebauer in the decathlon at the NCAA Championships! NR & PB by about 130 points!
  2. 54.04 for Savannah Sutherland in the women’s 400m hurdles at the NCAA Championships! Huge PB
  3. You can already tell that isn’t going to be winning this one…
  4. Calling Demyanenko “Daddy Demyanenko” is crazy
  5. So many errors by
  6. defeat 3-1 38 points from Nimir
  7. Through 7 events, Neugebauer is currently on pace for 8,953 points in the decathlon Absolutely demolished Bob Clay’s decathlon discus throw WR by over 2m, with a best mark of 57.70m.
  8. Couple of upsets today at the Ostrava Elite16. The big one is Sepka/Sedlak defeating Boermans/de Groot in 3 Also, Samoilova/Graudina beat Duda/Ana Patricia in 3 (prior to today had a 1-7 H2H over them in 2023/24, and a 2-13 H2H record overall), and Pfretzschner/Winter beat George/Andre in straight sets.
  9. Not sure where exactly to put this, but has the OBS intro been leaked yet?
  10. Maybe if they created an Olympics specifically for sports like these. (won’t be watching a single second of it however ) Otherwise, yeah nope… Ugh. Personally speaking (and I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks this), I believe that any sports that get added to the Olympic programme need to have an aspect of physical ability. Chess (which is a mind sport) doesn’t fit in that category.
  11. Olympic roster has just been announced by coach Karch Kiraly Setters: Jordyn Poulter, Lauren Carlini Outside Hitters: Avery Skinner, Jordan Larson, Kathryn Plummer, Kelsey Cook Opposites: Annie Drews, Jordan Thompson Middle Blockers: Chiaka Ogbogu, Dana Rettke, Haleigh Washington Liberos: Justine Wong-Orantes Khalia Lanier (OH), Ali Frantti (OH), Micha Hancock (S), Anna Hall (MB), and Morgan Hentz (L) have also been shortlisted as the potential alternate.
  12. Christopher Morales-Williams clocks a 44.96 in the men’s 400m prelims at the NCAA Championships, and will come into Friday’s final as the top qualifier.
  13. NCAA Champion! Jeremiah Nubbe finished 9th with a best mark of 71.17m.
  14. 77.18m PB for Rowan Hamilton in men’s hammer throw at the NCAA Championships! Still has three more attempts to go.
  15. Queen & King of the Court is expected to become a demonstration sport at LA 2028, with the potential of getting added to the Brisbane 2032 programme. Even as a beach volleyball fan, I don’t love the idea of it being at the Olympics. https://www.abendblatt.de/sport/article242479368/beachvolleyball-queen-king-of-the-court-olympisch-hamburg-active-city-arena.html Entire article is in German, so you might need to use Google Translate it
  16. has announced their Olympic roster. https://www.instagram.com/p/C71-gcwOuzv/?igsh=M2I4OW0wZjlyN2ls Cameron Brink Hailey Van Lith Rhyne Howard Cierra Burdick I would’ve picked Hull over Burdick, but with US’s depth in 3x3 basketball her absence is hardly surprising.
  17. I know it’s her real name and all, but had to do a double take when I saw the “Cori” part of it, as it’s rare when someone calls her that
  18. They were 1st on the reserves list, and Volleyball Canada’s selection criteria for the NORCECA Olympic Qualfying Tournament is each pairing’s top 4 finishes in 2024. Bansley/Bukovec have been much better, hence why they’ll probably be selected over Pavan/McBain.
  19. Brouwer/Meeuwsen Olympic dream. Gone.
  20. With the qualification draw having been announced, Diaz/Alayo and Hodges/Schubert have qualified for the Olympics. Made a mistake though with the 18th women’s quota, Fernandez/Soria haven’t yet qualified. Fernandez/Soria: 6800 pts (720, 640, 600, 600, 600, 600, 600, 600, 460, 460, 460, 460) Bansley/Bukovec: 6280 pts (760, 680, 720, 600, 600, 460, 460, 460, 460, 400, 340, 340) Bansley/Bukovec will need at least a semifinal finish, with Fernandez/Soria finishing no better than 13th. If Fernandez/Soria finish 9th, Bansley/Bukovec will need a bronze medal or better. If Fernandez/Soria finish 5th, Bansley/Bukovec will need to win gold.
  21. 18th quota men’s Olympic race Horl/Horst: 7260 pts (900, 760, 720, 640, 600, 600, 600, 600, 460, 460, 460, 460) Grimalt/Grimalt: 7260 pts (800, 800, 760, 760, 640, 640, 600, 600, 460, 460, 460, 460) Tight as it can get for the 18th and final Olympic quota, between Horl/Horst and the Grimalt cousins. Somewhat coincidentally, assuming both teams take care of their opening matches, both teams could take on each other in the 2nd round of qualification. Horl/Horst hold the tiebreaker amongst the two pairings (most points throughout the qualification period), so the Grimalts will need a 9th if they’ll want to qualify for the Olympics.
