  1. Even closer on his second attempt
  2. 8:15.95 for Jean-Simon Desgagnes in the men’s 3000m steeplechase. About a second shy of the Olympic standard.
  3. Girma 8:01.63 in the men’s 3000m steeplechase
  4. 19.98m for Sarah Mitton in women’s shot put at the Stockholm Diamond League!
  5. Heather Bansley/Sophie Bukovec finish 4th. Forfitted the bronze medal match due to injury, but judging from Bukovec’s Instagram story don’t think it’s anything serious and seems as if they’re still going to Ostrava.
  6. Thought the live started now, and not 30 minutes ago
  7. Not so fast Edit: Jeez we suck. Had a big lead, and now keep giving up 6s
  8. Oblique Seville. 9.82 WL & PB in the men’s 100m at the Racers Grand Prix Noah Lyles 9.85 in 2nd
  9. Julien Alfred 10.78 PB in the women’s 100m at the Racers Grand Prix!
  10. 12.99 for Michelle Harrison in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Racers Grand Prix. Decent time for her, should improve her Road to Paris points total.
  11. Jaydon Hibbert proving why he’s the favourite for Olympic gold in men’s triple jump, with a new WL of 17.75m at the Racers Grand Prix! Also, at the Trofeo de Atletismo Ciudad de Salamanca, Shanier Regino comes out of nowhere to produce a massive PB & NR & WL of 9.90 in the men’s 100m, ahead of his compatriot Reynaldo Espinosa in 9.96
  12. Bansley/Bukovec, as the selection criteria for the event is your top 4 finishes in 2024.
  13. with a HUGE 26-19 victory over yesterday in pool play at the HSBC SVNS Madrid! First victory over New Zealand in women’s sevens since 2016! We’d lost 27 straight since then. Probably one of the greatest months in Canadian rugby history (minus the men’s sevens team, who have been a downright disaster...) with Canada’s women’s 15s team also defeating New Zealand 22-19 to win the Pacific Fours title.
  14. Heather Bansley/Sophie Bukovec with another great run as they advance to the semifinals at the Stare Jablonki Challenge! Sarah Pavan/Molly McBain and Sam Schachter/Dan Dearing both finish in 9th. With Spain making it to the semifinals, they overtake Pavan/McBain in the Olympic Rankings, and fall out of an Olympic quota spot with just one Elite16 to go. Likely won’t change anything. I for one, am actually glad. Pavan/McBain have been in horrible form this season (they’ve farmed the majority of their points late in the year, when most teams were in their off season), and Bansley/Bukovec have been on fire. But now there’s the risk that we don’t qualify a second pairing, even if it’s unlikely. Puerto Rico have the potential to upset.
  15. Few more medals today. Lamothe/Simoneau won silver in duet technical in 248.3350, approximately a point better than in Doha (where they finished in 6th), and our women’s team won team free silver in 326.2981. Although United States demolished us (341.6208) in the battle for gold, we scored approximately 52.6000 (!) points better than in Doha, which would’ve been enough for a silver medal. Simoneau also won silver in women’s solo free, but given that solo isn’t an Olympic event doesn’t really hold much importance.
  16. Women’s team through to the semifinals at HSBC SVNS Madrid! VERY good 26-17 upset win over New Zealand, and a 22-17 win over Great Britain, combined with a narrow 26-19 loss to United States.
  17. Weather conditions weren’t great, but Ethan Katzberg records another win in men’s hammer throw, with a best mark of 80.04m at the Taiwan Athletics Open! Very consistent!
  18. But does Koolhof want that? Him and Schuurs would be a medal contending pairing, why risk it?
  19. Pretty mediocre last 24 hours, with Leylah losing at Roland Garros, Delgado at the Boxing Olympic Qualifier, Canada in Women’s VNL, and Schachter/Dearing and Pavan/McBain (out of an Olympic quota spot now, although they’re not in the greatest of form, so it might give a chance to Bansley/Bukovec at the NORCECA Qualifier) at the Stare Jablonki Challenge but WOW. McKenzie Wright with a 5-0 upset win over Serbia to advance to the quota bout in women’s 50kg! Want to be optimistic, but I don’t think she’ll qualify for Paris. Not trying to jinx or anything, just that our Olympic qualification period hasn’t been the greatest.
  20. Very impressive performance by Wright, and she’s through to the quota bout in women’s 50kg If we’re being nitpicky, I thought all three rounds went in favor of Wright, but all that matters is that she got the win.
  21. Didn’t know that @ChandlerMne was Serbian
  22. Could be wrong, but I don’t think any Serbian users on here follow volleyball that much.
  23. beat today in a very epic 5-setter. Congrats @Laraja
