  1. Well, wouldn't you know it. Bucks will have a new head coach. Told ya Giannis needs some changes
  2. Kudermetova won a grand total of two games so another Świątek vs Sabalenka final
  3. Welcome to the real world. In WTA there was a silent ban for a player who started a catfight with another player and I guess there is a reason for that. Meanwhile in NBA you have Draymond Green punching Jordan Poole and everyone is laughing & joking in the media. No real drama in sight. Women hold grudge against each other much longer than men so that also allows the drama to play out longer. Just last week Eugenie Bouchard was trying to stir the pot by tweeting about beating players busted for doping after beating Dayana Yastremska in Madrid and was swiftly put down to her place after WTA reminded her Yastremska was cleared of doping (as shaky as her excuse was) and Bouchard was forced to delete her tweets and apologize. That is only a minor drama because Bouchard isn't relevant enough on the grand scale anymore and lost her next match anyway.
  4. Half-way until another Świątek vs Sabalenka showdown as Sabalenka beat Maria Sakkari 6-4 6-1 in the first semi-final.
  5. Poland got a very manageable group, I'd say Northern Ireland was the most dangerous team from League B Pot 2 and we avoided them. Though Serbia will probably play very physical style etc.
  6. Well, if you got two elite athletes going at it then it's anyone's guess who was more to blame. Happens all the time in sports. Men also throw punches but women doing so kinda raises the drama factor by default.
  7. Looks like an ego problem if there was a catfight happening
  8. The first training camp for women's senior team before the new season starts on May 5th. We'll see if Monika Hojnisz-Staręga is there or not. Head coach Torgersen was last quoted in March that "he hasn't spoken to her lately" so it's anyone's guess what is going on.
  9. I still remember the days when we couldn't beat who didn't enter field hockey players on ice after all Predicting any success for Polish ice hockey is extremely naive but if we can't beat Romania then I don't know how low the bar must be set for us to jump over it
  10. Madrid 1000 into semi-finals: Iga Świątek (1) vs Veronika Kudermetova (12) Aryna Sabalenka (2) vs Maria Sakkari (9) Looks like another Świątek vs Sabalenka final so the women's tour might finally have a proper rivlary not seen too often in the last decade
  11. plays on the final day. Surely we can't blow this up now?
  12. Emma Raducanu has had surgery on both hands and ankle and is out of Wimbledon & grass season but I expect she might not be back until USO and maybe plays one warm-up there at best. It's clear her body just isn't made for a full-time tennis career so let's see where she goes from here. It's not like the sponsors will allow her to walk away even if she loses interest because the results over the past 12 months have been brutal but her endorsements have been all about the glamour potential and not the sport anymore.
  13. Yes, even Polish media called beating Italy a "great victory" and a "shock"
  14. And which teams took them out - Florida Panthers & Seattle Kraken - one of the historically most anonymous & bad teams around & the expansion gang. Yeesh!
  15. Need some Belgian members to tell us if this performance has been noted on the domestic scale or it's the usual cycling stuff again? Polish commentators seemed to indicate there were some Belgian journalists who bothered to show up in Sheffield for the final
  16. He's done it! Luca Brecel becomes the first player from continental Europe to win Snooker World Championships! 18-15 after a solid comeback from Mark Selby in the last session to make it 16-15 but it was too much to overcome in the end!
  17. Luca Brecel leads 15-10 after the third session. He's definitely taking this further than most people expected and the 147 didn't really become a turning point of the match.
  18. I don't really think so. Olympics is all about money these days so I don't see too many nations interested in creating separate Games at all.
  19. Warriors survive the first round and win Game 7 on the road vs Kings 120-100 Probably not what the Lakers wanted to see
  20. Mark Selby with 147! The first time ever in World Championship final
  21. Luca Brecel leads Mark Selby 6-2 after the first session.
  22. Whoa! That's one name I haven't heard in years. Probably one of the few Europeans big who were actually worse than the legend of Zan Tabak This being said Cezary Trybański aka the first Pole in NBA was even worse
  23. Not so fast! Luca Brecel comes from 5-14 down to beat Si Jiahui 17-15! The nerves got to the rookie half-way through the third session. Brecel is the first player from continental Europe to ever reach snooker World Champs final
  24. I didn't want to imply Giannis needs to move into another team, just bring in new guys to Milwaukee. East is still relative easier than West IMO even though Heat or Celtics look legit overall. Sixers are a coin toss again. Nets have blown it up and nobody should take Knicks seriously. Obviously LeBron was frustrated during the first time with Cavs. It was just him and a bunch of goons. Even worse than some of the Allen Iverson Sixers teams.
  25. Gauff's FH is absolutely tragic. Just got blasted by Paula Badosa 6-3 6-0 making 37 UE in 15 games. Gauff can beat the lower ranked players but the minute she faces someone from the upper levels she loses and usually loses badly. If she won't fix that FH she is never going to win anything above 250 level. Maria Sakkari plays Rebeka Masarova in the evening, the winner of that match plays Badosa in R4.
