  1. Ferrari blows another race when they should have 1-2 on paper. Vettel is absolutely useless in wheel-to-wheel action, Leclerc is the real deal, enough with geriatric asses of Webber and Raikkonen boosting Vettel's profile. Unless Ferrari applies blatant TO, Leclerc should be the team leader going forward IMO. Cannot trust Vettel holding his own under pressure ever AGAIN.

  3. Poland laboured into another win 2-0 vs :LAT  Our coach is way in over his head so we'll find a way to screw this up - or get super lucky with the powerhouses like Macedonia & Israel in this group ;)

Speaking of Loew, I'm glad he send the fat cats Hummels, Mueller & Boateng packing. A big middle finger salute to the Bayern ego :p

the problems were not with Patrick Favre joining France (it was well known already before the Pyeongchang Olympics that he would eventually leave the squad)...

Wierer's feud was with Patrick Obereggen, who literally abandoned the Italian team in the middle of the pre-season trainings to go with the Norwegian women's team...

and it was also a man Wierer had a closer (professional) relationship with...from that, things did heat up a bit when the misdemeanor happened, but Doro finally decided not to waste any energy on that and simply chose not to talk to him and of him anymore...

and when Obereggen tried to talk with Wierer quite some time after they had those troubles (around the Antholz world cup stage, I read), she just refused even to listen to him...basically she has cancelled him from her life...

Thx for the correction, Tomasz Sikora talked something about Patrick Favre for a while so I couldn't tell whether it was him or someone else. Then again why talk about the men's coaches during the women's races?

  5. That's the strategy for most teams, keep the hammer for the 10th even if you're down a point. Switzerland got very lucky during these cha,ps, Finland run out of time when they had the win in sights (and Swiss would be 0-3) and then some horrible tactics from both China & Korea.

I think there are two Clear favorites for women's next season

    1)Roeiseland

    2)Vitozzi

I think Wierer is going to retire soon, right?

Wierer was supposed to retire after last Olympics but they convinced her to go until the 2020 WC which will be held in Anterselva. Now I wonder if they convince her to go until the next Olympics? Both Tomasz Sikora & Weronika Nowakowska said there was some extra juice in the Italian team since their coach (P.Favre) joined the French team before the season without a warning so they wanted to prove they can perform without him as well. I guess they did just that.

  7. Well, this was a very good season on the women's side considering how one-sided the men's was. Maybe this overall success gives Wierer an extra boost to keep going until the 2022 WOG? Vittozzi was pretty impressive but crumbled mentally when it mattered the most. Herrmann proved to be the best of the Germans and quite frankly she can challenge for the overall next season IMO. Also Monika Hojnisz finished in the overall Top 10 as the second :POL ever after Krystyna Guzik in 2015/16.
