Adam Kszczot will be absent after all following another U-turn over the second vaccine jab. He claims he's feeling weak after the jab and decided to miss the IWC and end his career right there.

Happy for McGrath, but yet another completely random result. I’ve never seen a season completely full of unexpected winners. At least Strolz looks like he’s here to stay and Norwegian BFFs are both vastly talented and were going to the top sooner rather than later anyway.

I wonder what the lowest amount of points for winning a slalom globe is, considering we had 9 races now and Kristoffersen leads by 48 points at “measly” 371.

Ivica Kostelic - 478 points in 2010/11 season (ten races). It was the only time the slalom globe was won with a score below 500 points (since the 92/93 season when 100 points for the win was introduced). So even if Kristoffersen wins in Courchevel, this will be a new "record" :p

Zrinka Ljutić is the slalom champion. :cheer:

She is now invited for the WC finals, which is awesome.

This is very curious, Polish ES commentator Marcin Szafranski was raving about Ljutic during the WOG and said he thinks this girl can become a real superstar and I said to myself are we having another Ana Jelusic hype talk here but maybe he was a little right about her? :p

They also lost 5-0 to Spain so not so sure.

Anyway, it's just one match, at home, not against a top opponent... anything is possible.

Yeah, that was the third group game when the opponents finally scored in skittles. The actual playing style was terrible, that team was never supposed to even win one game.

Hah! Poland always has issues vs Scandinavian teams. Sweden has been our bogey opponent for years, first of all in the 1990 WC qualifying match which we supposedly threw away on purpose (a draw would be enough for England to qualify on goal difference ahead of Sweden). It was shortly after the communism fell and players were still looking to get any hardware income.

We last beat Sweden in a friendly game in 1977

This is the WC qualifying match from October 1989. A handball on the goal line (at 2:18) wasn't penalised with a red card back then :p

Haha you said this just as Lewandowski did a hat trick in Champions League. I’m not optimistic about Sweden’s chances even IF we beat Czech Republic. :p

Bayern is slightly different level. Under Michniewicz Lewandowski might as well run around the midfield circle 95% of the time. We lived through this when Fornalik was our head coach in the 2014 WC qualifying  Mateusz Klich will be suspended for the SWE/CZE game.

Swedish Football Federation is not happy about this decision. :mumble:

But it’s a strange situation. Whatever decision FIFA takes it will be always be complaining about it. :)

We got a new head coach who is a complete "park the bus" guy. Playing Poland might be the easier part of the double if you can hold off Lewandowski. I mean we played Sweden at the Euros not so long ago :p

When Michniewicz was the coach of our U-21 team in Euro qualifying we drew with Faroe Islands twice(!) but in the finals we beat Belgium and Italy. His park the bus tactics always does well vs better teams

  7. The 2022 league year starts on March 16th but the first bomb just dropped: Seattle Seahawks traded QB Russell Wilson to Denver Broncos for QB Drew Lock and multiple 1st round picks. AFC West just got helluva more difficult.

Aaron Rodgers signed a new 4-year deal with Green Bay Packers to quash rumours about him leaving Wisconsin (it was never reasonable to think he leaves a weak NFC North to go to Denver or Pittsburgh Steelers).

  8. Otepaa was always Justyna Kowalczyk's favorite track so I wonder if they cut down on the uphill sections for biathlon? :p

Team Poland will skip the Oslo finale and stage the national champs in Duszniki-Zdroj instead. It's been a terrible season all around so no need to extend the pain beyond Otepaa.

Magdalena Gwizdon has been drafted into the World Cup team for Otepaa. It will be her 27th active season on the World Cup (one more than O.E. Bjoerndalen).
