  1. Meanwhile in the 2nd League... A female pole vaulter just set a new PR with 2.85m....
  2. There were 62 participants in the men's qualification...
  3. @Griff88 Okay, a twist in the "re-draw case". According to the Danish media, TV 2 SPORT, Kate Foo Kune, who was removed from the draw, has been suspended from all badminton since July due to an ongoing doping case. As a result, BWF initially conducted a draw with a player who themselves had suspended. According to several sources close to Kate Foo Kune, both the A and B test have turned out to be positive. http://sport.tv2.dk/badminton/2019-08-09-dopingsag-skyld-i-vm-kaos-suspenderet-spiller-var-med-i-lodtraekningen (in Danish)
  4. Patryk Dobek achieved the Olympic Standard in men's 400m hurdles with 48.80.
  5. It looks like BWF once again showed how flawed a federation they are. Anyhow, thanks for the info, @Griff88!
  6. Okay that part. The first part of my post is basically just a copy/paste of the official statement from BWF. BWF's statement: "The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has conducted a re-draw of the women’s singles category at the TOTAL BWF World Championships 2019 in Basel, Switzerland. It was determined a player had mistakenly been included in the women’s singles entry list and the BWF has subsequently adjusted the entry list and conducted a re-draw". https://bwfworldchampionships.bwfbadminton.com/news-single/2019/08/09/womens-singles-re-draw-total-bwf-world-championships-2019/ If you say that her visa was rejected, why would BWF not say that, instead of say what they did?
  7. What is the "it" you are referring to?
  8. BWF has conducted a re-draw of the Women’s Singles because a player had mistakenly been included in the women’s singles entry list and the BWF has subsequently adjusted the entry list and conducted a re-draw. BWF Here is the new draw for Women's Singles: https://bwf.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draw.aspx?id=F4F75B1C-E72D-4248-865F-8EC38C06F7CB&draw=13

  16. Yeah you can't give two reactions on the same post, so I need to do this:
  17. As I have already stated in a post, handball is Denmark's national sport. PERIOD! Don't dare to argue with me, @Agger!
  18. Most Danes would say football is our national sport. It's the most played sport. Many, including myself, would probably say handball. It's said that handball was invented here in Denmark and many young people play this in the winter or if they don't want to play football. These are tier 1 sports in Denmark. Gymnastics is widely exercised among children in Denmark. Children mostly learn skills and techniques from artistics gymnastics and combine it with music. It's not really rhythmic gymnastics, more like basic jumps from articstic gymnastics combined with music. Swimming also has a big tradition in Denmark. Many children learn to swim from an early age and some continue on a more competitive level. Badminton is the big racket sport in Denmark. Many great results from Danish badminton players has made thie sport popular. Tennis would probably be bigger if it wasn't for all the rain we get... Denmark is a cycling nation, but few people is part of a club and pursue a professional career. We have also incorporated many of the traditional sports from the British Empire back in the late 1800's and some are still widely exercised, like sailing and rowing. Cricket has disappeared, but we still have a national team. A niche sport like speedway is relatively big in Denmark, but not on the same level as in Poland. For winter sports, curling is probably considered our national winter sport. Though, most danes prefer to ski during the winter, either alpine or cross-country, when they are on vacation in Norway, Sweden or the Alps. Some sports that are growing in Denmark are floorball, basketball, american football and ice hockey. The last three are due to more focus on NBA, NFL and NHL.
  19. If you mean qualification ranking for WCH, this should help you: https://www.tilastopaja.com/roadtodoha/
  20. Nothing really. The target numbers are just there to have some sort of maximum limit/cap of athletes at a WCH. At the moment these distances and disciplines have more than the target number: Men's 5000m 43 (TN: 42) Men's High Jump 38 (TN: 32) Men's Marathon 128 (TN: 100) Men's 20km Race Walk 63 (TN: 60) Men's 50km Race Walk 56 (TN: 50) Women's 100m 49 (TN: 48) Women's 200m 57 (TN: 56) Women's 10000 29 (TN: 27) Women's High Jump 34 (TN: 32) Women's Pole Vault 33 (TN: 32) Women's Long Jump 35 (TN: 32) Women's Shot Put 33 (TN: 32) Women's Heptathlon 25 (TN: 24) Women's Marathon 127 (TN: 100) Women's 20km Race Walk 61 (TN: 60) Currently there are 84 athletes more than the target number. However, some federations have a stricter qualification standard than the WCH standard, so the final number will fall.
  21. No, she is still half a minute from the WCH Standard, and there are already 27, (29 to be precise), athletes that have achieved the WCH Standard. The target number is 27, so no room for her. But she might start in next year's ECH in Paris on the 10,000m, and with many of the best Europeans focusing on the Olympics, she could have chance to win a medal. Of course this depend on who are actually going to compete in next year's ECH because she is nowhere near a medal if the best starts.
  22. Bob Bertemes threw 22.22m in men's shot put at a meeting in Luxembourg yesterday! https://www.iaaf.org/athletes/luxembourg/bob-bertemes-266203 This throw makes him the 20th best male shot putter of all time (best = longest thow by an athlete). It also makes him the 7th best European male shot putter of all time! The only other European who is better than him, and not from the 80's, is Michal Haratyk with 22.32m. As many have said about this season in men's shot put, wow!
