  3. Triple gold medallist from last year's WCH, Laurence Vincent-Lapointe, has failed a doping test and has been provisionally suspended. https://www.canoeicf.com/noticies/vincent-lapointe-out-world-titles-after-failing-doping-test
  4. He did fix the clip. See here: According to the rule book: Climbing procedure 7.17 A competitor’s attempt shall be deemed to have: A) Started, and measurement of the climbing time shall start, when every part of the competitor’s body has left the ground. For the avoidance of doubt, the route judge has discretion to determine whether a competitor is starting or adjusting their position prior to starting. During their attempt, competitors: 1) are not permitted to clean holds; and 2) must clip the Protection Points in sequence, provided that: a) the competitor may un-clip and re-clip the last clipped Protection Point at any time; and b) the competitor must correct any “Z-Clip” and to do so may un-clip and re-clip any of the Protection Points involved, provided that after correction all Protection Points must be clipped.
  5. The commentators on IFSC's youtube livestream say that Ondra is going to be awarded 10 in the lead. They got this information from an official. This would mean he will end 19th in lead and he will lose the quota. Nothing is official yet! Edit: It's now official. Ondra is 19th in lead, so no final or quota for . Here is the reason: (Standing on a bolt)
  6. There is an appeal against Ondra, so he can be moved down to 18th in lead which will make him lose the quota.
  7. With 6.86m in women's long jump in Birmingham, Nafissatou Thiam is now qualified in three disciplines. Heptathlon, Long Jump and High Jump
  8. She was tied with someone else I guess. I haven't watch it yet. A tied 19th place gives 19.5. 1*19,5*20 = 390
  9. Meeting: Birmingham Transfers Status OPEN until Tomorrow, August 18th, 10:00 (UTC) @tuniscof @ady48 @africaboy @heywoodu @Henry_Leon @Olympian1010 @Dunadan @Vojthas @toulousain @SteveParker @rybak @Dragon @OlympicIRL
  10. There will be no replacements. If your opponent withdrew, it's a walkover. I already know that Jan Ø Jørgensen is through to the second round because Brice Leverdez has withdrawn.
  11. IOF decided to split the WCH into two. "Distances/Forest" championships every odd year and "Sprint/City" championships every even year. The reason for this decision is to make it possible for more countries to bid for a WCH. Some countries don't have "enough" forest to hold a WCH. IOF hopes that this new system makes it possible to bring more awareness of orienteering in the world. I have heard that Hong Kong is planning to bid for a Sprint WCH. Before that wouldn't have been possible for a country like Hong Kong to bid for a whole WCH, but now it is possible. Also, money I guess. More countries have the possibility to host a WCH which probably mean more federations in IOF, which can lead to more publicity in new countries, which can mean new sponsors to IOF. So yeah.... money!

  13. Penny Smith can also get a quota, so Australia, Finland, Russia will battle for the two quotas.
  14. I thought someone from the Netherlands would love music that goes 'boom boom'
  15. qualified in women's 3000m steeplechase (athletics). https://www.iaaf.org/athletes/albania/luiza-gega-256102
  16. I somehow missed that Luiza Gega achieved the Olympic Standard in Women's 3000m Steeplechase in Skopje with a time of 9:25.80.
  17. Congrats to the Serbian users, especially those who are Crvena Zvezda-fans. What a penalty shoot-out! That penalty spot though
  18. It was reported yesterday that Sondre Turvoll Fossli had been hospitalized and today it was confirmed. According to a press release from the Norwegian Ski Federation, Fossli suffered a cardiac arrest Monday morning. He quickly got life-saving first aid and was taken to Oslo University Hospital. - Sondre is closely followed by cardiac specialists at the hospital and is doing well, says Ola Rønsen from the Ski Association who, according to the press release, has visited Fossli at the hospital. - He is obviously very happy that he came from this with his life preserved. It is too early to say what consequences this could have for his skiing career, concludes Ola Rønsen.
  19. Nice I sometimes listen to a German ska-rock band named Evil Cavies. Don't know if you have heard about them? Here are a couple of the songs I listen to from them:
  20. Lowry is out... https://www.nba.com/article/2019/08/12/kyle-lowry-withdraws-usa-basketball-world-cup
  21. On the bright side, I think there could be arranged an awesome industrial concert with a band like Rammstein in many of the olympic venues.
  22. If phelps is like me, he had to, for example, re-write FIROUZPOURBANDPEI because I personally don't like names written in caps lock. (Yeah I know, I'm a bit weird )
  23. Because @phelps also have a life beside this forum Also, have you seen the names of some of the wrestlers... Mohmmadsadegh Biglar FIROUZPOURBANDPEI, Amkhad TASHUKHADZHIEV. It takes forever to write these names!
  24. Nope From the official document: "Mixed Team Places allocation at the Continental Games If an NOC wins the mixed team competition after having already obtained a place in: • one gender, then one additional place will be allocated to the individual competition of that gender and the NOC will obtain one individual place in the other gender". In this case, USA won the mixed event, they already have one individual in the men's, so two individual places to two NOCs in men's individual, if both are in top 4. @NearPup was quicker At the European Games, Italy, Netherlands and Spain were the nations in the men's individual semifinals. and already had qualified as individual or team, so received one of the quotas while the second was reallocated to the Final OQT because there was no other nation in top 4.
