I hope i'm terribly wrong here and she does a miracle and she will be one of the stories of the games being in - I don't know - Top 8, Top 6... swh close to her PB.

 

Anyway, i have a feeling she will be one of our biggest hopes for LA 28, she will be 29 then.

She declared that she'll perform. She's still training daily according to a special plan made with her team and doctors.

Iga Świątek was to play mixed doubles and talked about it even today, but neither she nor Kubot are on the list and I am worried. The document with qualifying Rules I found says two things at the same time: that entries should be made by 20 july and that the exact date is tbd. 

I thought it's open until tomorrow but now I'm puzzled. 

so there's Japan vs USA final for sure and Canada will play for bronze with either Australia or Mexico, right?

Lmao, but the fight for Gold medal may still be tight, especially in women's tournament. And I'd rate Osaka's and Świątek's chances higher than Barty's here. Mainly due to their attitude towards Olympics.

Honestly hard to tell right now. There are three blank spots in women's singles right now and it's possible that ITF may decide to reallocate European quota, as they did with Machač in men's. 

But the next three eligible players are ??Kirsten Flipkens, ?? Martina Trevisan and ?? Zhu Lin. 

?? Johanna Konta is out due to recovering from Covid.
