  2. Iran won the team title in Greco for the 15th time in history but the 2nd day was a total disaster. Iran ended up with 3 more medals (1 G, 1 S and 1 B) but that gold medal was somehow a gift from the ref who fell for our guy's acting. winning half of the gold medals (5 out of 10) sounds good on paper but considering the fact that it was almost our A team (without 3 or 4 of our top guys) I'm not convinced at all. specially because this year we have to prepare two teams for the Worlds and the Asian Games. and in some weights we don't even have one solid wrestler I wonder how other Asian countries will do about this. sending the same team to the Worlds and to the AG (10 days later) ?

  5. I can't beat @Joshwith how fast he posts the results! Thanks for sharing again Josh! I'm noticing a big improvement for both the French men teams (Krou/Gauthier-rat and Lyneel/Bassereau). Probably still very far from medal contention in Paris, but last year even in Challenge events they were usually nowhere to be seen. Also didn't expect Xue/Xia to take the women's event over the Brazilian and American pairs. Meanwhile one of the Dutch Piersma/Van Driel teams reached the quarterfinal, decent result for them. Funny how we've got 2 Piersma sisters and 2 Van Driel sisters and they're paired up with each other.

  10. The people of Ukraine support their defensive war and the people of Russia support their "special military operation". Regardless of how or why that is the case and regardless of how they will feel about it in the future, it's the simple truth. Ukraine and its people want to fight this fight so we help them, and Russia and its people want to fight this fight so their allies help them. So I don't get this "it's easy for you to say that" narrative. I wouldn't support the war if the people of Ukraine would be against it. But they aren't. Most of those "pro-peace" people seemingly think that they know what's best for Ukraine (surrender), just like how Russia think they know what "best" for Ukraine (being neutral instead of being a NATO member state). Maybe what's best for Ukraine is what the people of Ukraine and its elected leadership think its best for the country. It's called self-determination, which is what Ukraine is fighting for in the past decade. And anything beyond that, like saying that they are "brainwashed by Western propaganda", just like what some said about the Hungarian freedom fighters in 1956, is deeply disrespectful to the Ukrainian people.

  13. Once again it’s all because we are both not the one on the court facing bullets and missiles. We are the one typing on keyboard and restructuring world order based on our own geopolitical idealism. Yet people are continuously dying. From my point of view, maybe your death makes hero at this point, but 20 years 50 years later, no one remember s you except your beloved ones. And your sacrifice may even become a joke at that timing.

  14. The best politics is to avoid the war at the very beginning instead of sacrifice a whole generation or ethnic to win. Actually this is no win of war, all war ends up with diplomatic agreement sooner or later, more deaths or less. All battles, deaths and control points shipments are merely oral bargaining chips on the table one day. I don’t support Russians who started the hot war. But at this point, I just want it stop as soon as possible through diplomacy. Whoever advocates war something like we have to win is cruel and cold blooded as you don’t literally fight on court facing death at all time.

  15. so, sooner or later it had to happen... better now than in more important regatta. Caterina Banti & Ruggero Tita lost their first event since the 2020 Worlds (in January 2020) and they lost in style, they didn't even make the podium (they finished 4th) and got beaten by not 1, but 2 different Italian crews... focusing on the America's Cup boat definitely doesn't have a good influence on Ruggero Tita's performance on the Nacra boat. Hope he won't sacrify an (easy) Olympic back-to-back to pursue the dream of a trophy Italy will never be capable of winning.

  18. Russia will never be satisfied because their ultimate goal is become a superpower again, but the war in Ukraine proved that Russia is way too powerless for those ambitions. They will eventually become a puppet state of China, so the current discussions should be between the West and China, not between the West and Russia. The fate of Ukraine and Russia will be decided based on what the US and China want. Russian propaganda says Ukraine is just a chess piece for the US and they fail to realize that Russia has also became a smaller piece in this game. And I think China will be very satisfied by a Russian defeat in this war if it will mean that they will have significant control over a weakened Russia and its resources. China can gain more with this conflict than the West/US, a fully victorious Ukraine is still less of a prize than Russia. And Russia will lose the most as they can become the lapdog of a nation that they have far less cultural connection with than with the West.

  48. @Vektor@BiathlonfanYeah, the World Cup in Poznań has been cancelled. Apparently FIE send a message to the organizers that "Polish authorities can't decide which Russians should take part in the event or not and that is FIE's decision". After that the Polish organizers cancelled the event. If FIE is sending such a message to everyone else opposing the Russians then I'm no longer surprised why everything gets cancelled. This is quite a hideous blackmail for lack of better words.

  49. AELTC gave in and lifted the Wimbledon ban on Russians & Belarussians. They had no choice after nobody supported them in the tennis world (especially none of the other Grand Slams). The fact Russian-born Elena Rybakina won Wimbledon last year only made the whole decision look even more stupid. Kate Middleton still had to shake hands with a Russian DNA and the winner's trophy currently sits in Moscow in Rybakina's parents' house. https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/64933565
