For the moment there's no discovery+ in  (according to Wikipedia they will roll it out in the near future here and  in cooperation with Vodafone)

So I think for those countries (and others with no D+) the streams will be on ES player.

I don't know how much it is in your Country, but if you can have it for 7.99€ for 1 month (or 50€ for a full year) here in Italy, I guess it's even cheaper by you...

 

 

about vpn, I only recommend Express VPN or Nord VPN...they're not so cheap, but they're by far the top 2 around, the only ones that have enough Nations and enough speed to allow all the streams to go to their best resolution and bitrate...

 

if you only need US servers, Windscribe is also good...and they have 10 GB of available data also on the free version (you only need to sign up)...

they also have a nice android tv app to be used directly on your TV (if you have an android TV)...

About ES player, that price isnt that expensive, indeed. But i am against Discovery on the moral point of view. They are so greedy. My cable TV provider (bigest one in Montenegro) refused to pay Discovery bigger amount of money that they demanded in order to extend partnership. So majority of my countrymen cant watch any Discovery channel at all. And they were rather expensive in the first place. 

But ES player is an option, surely.

Side note. I remember those times when we could watch OG for free. And majority of events included. 

Now we cant even watch some smaller sports like weightlifting without paying...

Free is basically never as good as paid, even a cheap subscription can be fine for a month. You don't happen to have something like Norton antivirus? That has a VPN as well.

I know that living in a world that isnt so money focused is a ilusion but OG as an event "larger than life", probably only human activity that can unify 7+ billion people, should also focus on providing a chance for as many people as possible to see that unification.

I absolutely agree with you, but since that's just not the way it has been, is or will be, we'll have to pay up I'm afraid

 

It can be somewhat accepted though. I mean, an average cinema ticket here costs probably €10 or so for what, two or maybe three hours of entertainment. No problem paying a few times that for two weeks of non-stop entertainment, all-day long, and even throughout the whole year

I'd be disgusted if it suddenly ended up on only Discovery+. I know that Eurosport Player will be phased out at some point but I'll stay out of that cash grab for as long as possible!

yeah, I'm also taking advantage of the Black Friday offer (24.99€/year, so, even less than you ) for many years, but since a few people asked about it for the Olympics, I reported the not discounted offer taking place right now in Italy...

I know that's different from most Countries, but it's just to give an idea of how cheap it is if compared to basically any other sport service...

At my age  I’d much rather pay for what I want & get it, than be given it for “free” & have to put up with all the superfluous crap you get on the BBC, NBC etc.
