Bravo polish girsl! Wish good luck in european qualifier.

They are only allowed to start in the European qualifier, if Poland gets less than two quota places at the World Championships. They have already one.

There’s regional qualifiers in the lightweight events and 3 of the 7 spots so far in the men’s have gone to USA, Canada and Mexico. Good news for Uruguay and a big chance for someone else now!

Romania just rulzzzzzzzz

@phelpsthanks for maestro Colamonici :P

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

shame! shame on those 2! :facepalm: :wall: :hairpull:

rowing, football and rifle & pistol shooting right now are the true black sheep of our sport

compared to tradition, number of people practicing and investments, rowing should completely change the men in charge of the federation and of the team

and the athletes, especially the women, have to completely change their attitude...it's obvious that they just don't train enough and hard enough :bones:

I think it was you who told me a few years ago that the people running Italian rowing survive by claiming medals in non-Olympic events. Is that still the case Phelps?

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
    • Yeah, they do get broadcast pretty regularly.  I remember even back in Bode Miller's day they would show the training.
