Well, despite the popular opinion here, we still have a legitimate contender for becoming first new WC champion in a while. And that is a good thing.

Well yeah, Croatia played yesterday and Uruguay the day before, so nothing about that has changed.

Unfortunate (for Japan) goal in the end, but I'm happy with the match. I wanted the winner to be a team not from Europe or the Americas, but now that this will not happen, I will cheer for Uruguay. Not that I think they can beat France, but this World Cup has been so weird that anything could happen.

It is commonly said that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I wonder if this match makes Belgium stronger , A real title contender

Japan played great. just great but that was stupid to attack in last minute with so many players against such dangerous team. you have to learn to park the bus sometimes.

You all make fun of Neymar, but there is a real reason for him to fall and scream all the time... it’s the result of a trauma from the past....

He.... stepped on LEGOs....

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
