  1. BTW, this is the match with biggest revenue of all times in Brazil at almost R$39mi (a little over US$10 million). The average price ticket for the final was R$661 (or 173 dollars), just proving how overpriced this shit was.
  2. Well, congrats Brazil on winning this absolutely meaningless title
  3. Bolsonaro (and his followers), Moro, Neymar all in Maracanã. This is the one time I wish Brazil could lose.
  4. Yes, they accepted every possible quota. I think Bolivia wants to be seen as a "sports nation", especially after the success of hosting the South American Games - and their plans of maybe being hosts of the 2027 Pan American Games.

  7. Today was terrible indeed. In women's only our 5th best pair remains (4th if we only count the teams here); in Men's, only our 2nd and 4th best pairs. I seriously believe we won't win a single medal this time
  8. 3/4 brazilian women's pairs advance to Round of 16. Pity for Maria Elisa/Carol who are our third best pair. Ágatha/Duda and Ana Patrícia/Rebeca closer to Olympic qualification. Kinda shocked by Ludwig's elimination, although Kozuch is not really on her level. Sweat/Walsh Jennings early elimination is also a little surprising, but not that much when we see their poor results in the preliminary round.

  10. Copa America is being hosted by Argentina and Colombia next year. This will be a good opportunity for Messi to win a title with Argentina.
  11. Well, after the next year's edition, we should only have Copa America each 4 years, unless CONMEBOL changes its mind again - which wouldn't surprise me one bit

  14. Pretty much what I think, but I'm not sure about Boxing. 2 in Canoeing and 3 in Skateboarding might be too optimistic. I'd say 1 and 2, respectively, for a total around 17.
  15. 18/18, which is now our record. Should end tomorrow as Pedro/Vitor will face Mol/Sorum.
  16. Brazil haven't lost a single match yet (14) but of course this should end soon as our pairs have yet to face the better teams.
  17. +12 for a total of 484 athletes.
  18. Darlan Romani new South American record in Men's Shot Put.

  21. Yes, but most likely Brazil will face in the semifinal a team searching for the same things (Paraguay). Not that easy.
  22. It was bound to happen. And we actually lost 7 athletes initially, but our committee somehow managed to "save" 2 athletes in the process. Pity for the other 5, even though they didn't have any realistic chance of winning a medal.
  23. Me neither (to be fair, I've heard of Carol Horta before, as she won a bronze in Toronto with another partner). We have 5 pairs in each gender competing for the 2 Olympic spots, 4 of which are competing at World Championships. So of course the tour is much more important than Pan Ams, which don't give points for Tokyo qualification.
  24. Our committee announced 472 athletes for the Games, a little less than predicted since the number in Athletics was reduced by 5 (thanks to some mix-up with the organizing committee) and Bia Haddad withdrew from the Tennis competition (she was our best chance of a medal in this sport). We can still qualify a team in Men's Rugby but that's unlikely given the pool composition of the qualifying tournament.
