  1. Romania will qualify only if two of these four teams have huge meltdowns. Australia has a chance, though.
  2. If everything goes as planned, Belgium, Brazil, France and Germany should qualify.
  3. Australia ends with 218.428, huge improvement compared to the 214.812 achieved last year. I don't think is enough for qualification, though...
  4. And with a 12.333 of Ponor on Vault, Romania ends with 216.569. That's less than last year's 217.220.
  5. I think he means in this group. I think the colombian girl can finish ahead of other gymnastics by the end of the day.
  6. Romania did 54.840 on FX, compared to 54.999 last year. Total 160.446 (vs 159.064 last year). Should be much better for qualification purposes. Australia doing a nice job, although the beam was their low point just like in last year's Worlds.
  7. If they have to choose between Iordache and Ponor... that's hard.
  8. Romania... not doing great on floor It seems like the only two gymnastic that could save Romania are Ponor and Bulimar, but the latter had a fall on bars.
  9. Comparing with last year's Worlds: 2015: Australia VT: 56.600 UB: 52.748 2016: Australia VT: 56.532 UB: 54.899 2015: Romania UB: 49.133 BB: 54.932 2016: Romania UB: 50.599 BB: 55.007 Which means Romania is a little bit better than last year, but needs more to qualify.
  10. For All-Around only the first Vault is considered.
  11. That's a very good score for her, although a little bit off from her 15.100 score on All-Around qualification in last year's World Championship. She's seems really focused on qualifying today and hopefully she can hit a bars routine (which I think maybe is her biggest challenge).
  12. That is indeed a good score for her. Rooting for her qualification
  13. Not looking good for Romania at the moment, but UB is their worst apparatus and maybe they can recover in the others.
  14. Maria Lenk Trophy (Brazilian trials) - Day 2 After the second day of competition (and combining the results with the brazilian Open), are qualified for the Olympics: Men's 100m Backstroke - Guilherme Guido (53.09) Men's 200m Freestyle - Nicolas Oliveira (1:46.97) and João de Lucca (1:47.65) Women's 100m Backstroke - Etiene Medeiros (1:00.00) No athletes achieved the standards in Women's 400m Freestyle and Women's 100m Breaststroke. In addition to the two above, Luiz Altamir Melo (already qualified yesterday for 400m Freestyle) and André Pereira will complete the Men's 4x200m Freestyle Relay team. Jhennifer Conceição will be selected for the Breaststroke portion of our women's medley relay if we confirm the quota.
  15. Yes, I also couldn't find anything regarding this matter. It seems that teams ranked 5th to 8th at the test event are not guaranteed of a spot at the Olympics - they need to have an all-arounder in qualifying position, and then the quota is allocated to the NOC (which can choose any athlete to go to the Games).
  16. With 350.609, Germany is probably safe for the Olympics. Canada, with 330.626, is probably out.
  17. Maria Lenk Trophy (Brazilian trials) - Day 1 For brazilian trials, the criteria is very simple: achieve the Olympic standard and you're in (the two best times will qualify if more than 2 athletes achieve the standard). Remember that brazilian athletes had two qualifying tournaments for the Games - the Open in December, and now the Maria Lenk Trophy, the last chance to meet the standards. After the first day, the following athletes are guaranteed in the Olympics: Men's 100m Breaststroke - João Gomes Jr. (59.06) and Felipe França (59.36) Men's 400m Freestyle - Luiz Altamir Melo (3:50.32) Men's 400m Individual Medley - Brandonn Almeida (4:14.07) Women's 100m Butterfly - Daiene Dias (58.04) and Daynara de Paula (58.38) Women's 400m Individual Medley - Joanna Maranhão (4:38.66) As many of you may know, current silver medalist Thiago Pereira decided that he won't participate in the 400m IM event at Rio Olympics.
  18. While Brazil men's group might be easiest one, I wouldn't say that about our women's group. Our female team is not what it used to be and both China and Sweden will be tough challenges. China, especially, is in a very good moment, having won against USA recently.
