  1. Nothing official yet, although the latest and (and really the only) real news article about it is from yesterday: https://www.volkskrant.nl/sport/nederland-vaardigt-na-53-jaar-weer-een-gewichtheffer-af-naar-de-olympische-spelen~b5ded4f2/ There it's saying he will go (first Dutch in 53 years), and also that his gold medal in the world juniors should have been enough and nobody - including himself - knew why it took so long to get confirmation after that. Those people really should read on Totallympics more often.
  2. Ah, the same article on a Dutch website did call him 'The Elon Musk of the Balkan' Unknown here then, I guess. I was wondering since I'm really not into these things myself, but this dude sounds pretty interesting to follow.
  3. How well-known is Rimac in Croatia? Just wondering, since the first headline I saw about it here literally said "Bugatti taken over by unknown Croatian company" Cool though, Bugatti's are sweet.
  4. Davide Rebellin, 49 years old, climbing into the top-10 in a pretty decent field https://www.procyclingstats.com/race/sibiu-cycling-tour/2021/stage-2-gc Tutti pazzi per Pirazzi is also back, but nowhere near his pre-doping form
  5. I already know how that's going to go Day -2 and -1: "Cool, it's starting, let's watch the softball and football and let's go!!" Much later with Olympics in full swing: "Huh, finals are today, I wonder who made it."
  6. Harder for Flückiger than for Lecomte though, considering the women's race is basically what we saw (minus Neff), whereas in the men's race Van der Poel will join the field, Avancini will quite likely return in better shape than earlier in the season and Pidcock is probably going to be a lot more recovered than he was yesterday...
  7. Ugh. It's both so unsurprising and so sad that Athletics Kenya is basically just an awful and incredibly incompetent federation.
  8. How many young people watch TV instead of stuff on their mobile devices though? If you truly want to reach young people, one might assume 30-second highlight videos on TikTok might be enough..
  9. Wow, please teach the NOS how that works
  10. Wait, your national broadcaster shows sports during the Olympics?
  11. Exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

  13. [hide] Knockout Round - Semifinals June 26th - July 11th, 2021 4 Nations, Winners of each Semifinal will qualify for the Final Semifinals Date & Time (GMT +2, CEST) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 July 6th 2021, h. 21:00 Italy 2 0 Spain July 7th 2021, h. 21:00 Denmark 1 0 England [/hide]
  14. That would be rather sad and very irresponsible from Athletics Kenya (again). It's not his responsibility to get tested....it's his responsibility to make sure he doesn't test positive, but being tested is on the federation. On every side this smells like they just don't want him there even though he rightfully qualified.
  15. That's why we should make the DL broadcasts half an hour shorter, then there's more space to show all events !
  16. Loved his interview from the car at the end: "I can see all of these orange fans on the left now, all just coming to support McLaren."
  17. Hopefully he'll be able to put up more of a fight than in the races in Austria (and probably he will), because those were just as boring when it's about the winner At least yesterday it was interesting behind Verstappen.
  18. Can the four final/deciding matches be rewatched anywhere (spoiler free)? I believe I saw FIBA only has live streams of the press conferences on YouTube, that's not exactly what I'm looking for Good spoiler-free highlight videos are fine too.
  19. Not at all, if I was I wouldn't be fascinated by something that'd be entirely normal for me then Last time any needle went into anywhere was in 2019 (vaccinations to go to Brazil) and before that 2009 (vaccinations to go to Brazil), no worries.
  20. First bit of virus is in my body Always fun to see a vaccination needle pierce your skin, somehow I find it fascinating. Also, really as good as impossible to feel that needle As per the instructions I had to sit and wait for 15 minutes, good time to watch a full hour of speed climbing
  21. It's probably because the way the English tend to behave, they don't exactly make themselves likeable
  22. Perisic missed a match and....that's about it I think? Surprisingly smooth indeed, excellent!
  23. Colbrelli with a performance like this on a stage like this, Landa must be the huge favorite for the Vuelta if he is recovered by then And really big shame Haig had that hard crash, he'd be a highly likely podium contender here.
  24. Talking about sucking, apparently Athletics Kenya is trying to kick out the number two at the trials, while the top-2 was supposed to automatically qualify (with the third spot being up to the selectors).
