  1. Wow, including some 'fuck you' to the other athletes......
  2. Looks as though here we'll have both Eurosport Player, which will remain until at least early 2022, and Discovery+. Not sure whether one or the other will have more streams, but it does appear that the Player will still remain an option at least for Tokyo. I might get a month subscription for Discovery+ (I mean, I'll get two fewer bottles of guaraná this month and the money is back) just to try it out and get used to it in case I do have to suddenly switch
  3. No, but I do have a large Eurosport Player flag above my bed
  4. Since it wasn't the case in the 2019 world championships, I'm just going to assume it won't be the case in the Olympics neither. As a fan of athletics, let's hope they'll stay far away from that monstrosity so that the actual best performing athletes can win.
  5. It depends on the subject I guess No doubt some people download an F1 race or something, but most people will watch it live on TV, sort of internet-savy people watch an illegal stream online and the rest doesn't watch what they can't easily watch live.
  6. But Alpecin has been doing a ton of work, no way they can't control 250km by themselves. Quick-Step doesn't seem likely to help them, Colbrelli is good enough but his team couldn't even control a stage like this in the Dauphiné, let alone here (especially without Haig). Matthews is strong enough as well, but the day his team pulls at the front for more than a few kilometers has yet to come. Van Aert doesn't seem to have the shape he had last year... Van der Poel might give it a try indeed, he'll be stepping out of the Tour relatively soon anyway and so is no danger for anybody. The only other breakaway-avoiding option I see, like you said, is Alaphilippe (if the breakaway is close enough).
  7. Promising stage today, finally a real long stage and not one of those stages where it's 200+ kilometers of nothing but flat A mini-classic, that's what's needed to exhaust the riders and make the rest of the race more interesting. Perfect chance for a breakaway, because who is going to control the pace in the peloton? There don't seem to be many likely contenders to do so.
  8. I'm mostly hoping it stays on the Player because the Player works so well. It'd be shitty to have to get used to an entirely new interface and layout within a few days before the Olympics.
  9. Thread (controversial, of course ):
  10. I absolutely agree with you, but since that's just not the way it has been, is or will be, we'll have to pay up I'm afraid It can be somewhat accepted though. I mean, an average cinema ticket here costs probably €10 or so for what, two or maybe three hours of entertainment. No problem paying a few times that for two weeks of non-stop entertainment, all-day long, and even throughout the whole year
  11. Seriously makes you wonder what went on in his head. I mean, one can find the measures too strict or whatever, everyone knows they're there and what the consequences can be of breaching them, meaning being thrown off the Olympic team must have been a risk he was actively willing to take.
  12. No worries, Mekhissi-Benabbad isn't here
  13. Wow. One of the absolute athletics highlights of the past few years
  14. Where has that been reported?
  15. Keet Oldenbeuving will carry the Dutch flag in the opening ceremony......with Churandy Martina
  16. Impressive run by Kejelcha, 12th fastest time ever.
  17. Triple jump once again showing how much this final 3 format is utter bullshit. Pereira with a foul, Diaz was already injured before and then Triki only had to have a valid jump (which, admittedly, he did well) in order to win. Ugh. 'Luckily' the overall level was rather low anyway so this time it didn't change that much.
  18. Totally didn't look that up before the stage
  19. Cavendish again Never thought there'd be sympathetic wins for Cavendish, but 2021 gives some unexpected stuff
  20. I hope at least the 'wanting to help' part is correct...somewhat?
  21. We've got a forum full of smart international people wanting to help their fellow fans, I'm sure we will find a way to help out as good as everyone who has problems watching it in one way or another
  22. We're talking about 47 half for a guy who is considered to be one of the two main people fighting for....bronze. That by itself is already an amazing sign of how insanely fast the 400m hurdles has developed in the past three years or so
