  1. @konig luckily managed to escape the law recently!
  2. Nothing to close the work week like an utterly ridiculous law suit somewhere Parents sue son for not giving them a grandchild https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-61424869 Parental love
  3. Daaaamn what a race by Niyonsaba
  4. Yeah, but often those cliche acts that pass at least are performed fairly alright. This time the Czech, but especially the Polish performance was just.....way, way below par. Not like the song wasn't good, but the performance itself. That screechy part in the Polish song could work, but it has to be done by someone who doesn't make it sound like nails on a chalkboard (which ruins the whole thing, because the rest wasn't bad) The most typical act that at least made it through is Moldova I think
  5. Poland, Czech Republic and Azerbaijan all through, wow. Did not see that coming after the collection of missed notes, trembling voices and overall disappointing performances At least Finland is though
  6. My order after one listen and one listen only 1 Finland 2 Georgia 3 Australia 4 Estonia 5 Cyprus 6 Ireland 7 Israel 8 Montenegro 9 Sweden 10 Romania 11 Belgium 12 Serbia 13 North Macedonia 14 Azerbaijan 15 Czech Republic 16 Poland 17 Malta 18 San Marino Whole lot of mixed stuff. Especially Malta, which seems like such an excellent song but was performed so...poorly No idea what to make of Georgia and Serbia, I could have just as easily switched them. The only one I am certain of in terms of my position is Finland, that opened and nothing came anywhere near it
  7. Demare won the sprint today, at least half a millimeter ahead of Ewan. Gaviria was relegated to last place of the peloton after trying hard to push Cees Bol into the barriers (but luckily not succeeding, no idea what the fuck got into him there). Other than that, it was an extremely uneventful stage, as was basically expected. Diego Rosa left the peloton after 30k or so to not die of boredom in the recreationally riding peloton, three Drone Hopper guys tried something for a bit without much luck and then we went to a 30k slow sprint preparation Tomorrow has all the makings to be a billion times better, so that's good!
  8. From Wikipedia: Either some opponent got his hands on the Wikipedia page and it wasn't edited yet when I looked, or this is actually real (and he'll probably attribute the current situation to not having gathered enough rings with elephant hair or something ). I thought the US had an anti-science leader for a while....
  9. I am a little out of the loop here with all those terms being thrown around in the article, what exactly is the current situation now?
  10. One of the main thing about non-South-African African riders in general: they often lack any sort of situational awareness in terms of riding in a peloton, we've seen that for 10+ years now, especially since the emergence of the Eritreans. Which is not something they can be blamed for, by the way, since it's something you do really need to learn and you can't learn in relatively small races in Eritrea and such. It is improving, so that's good. And to be fair to Girmay: his team this Giro is just...not good, at all. They could have fairly easily made sure Demare wasn't even in the sprint yesterday, but other than going to the front for a few minutes in the long descent, they didn't do much. Then Girmay had to find his own way once again and lost way too much energy. In terms of positioning, it was drama, much like Van der Poel. He didn't even really get to sprinting because he was face-first in the wind with 700m to go already. Mass sprints are not his thing, and not because of the legs.
  11. Everything is still full with discussion about things like especially the camera work, it seems to still be off, with shots changing too late and so on...I really hope the organization will be able to fix it before tonight..
  12. So, Nibali and Dumoulin are not in good shape, we can say after yesterday's umpteenth Etna climb. Miguel Angel Lopez is already out, literally, after having to give up due to a fall early on. Today it's a nice bit of copy-pasting by the Giro organizers, I guess they really didn't have much inspiration. After the nowadays almost obligated Etna stage in 2020, we had this stage: Today, after the semi-obligated Etna stage, we have this one:
  13. It oddly still feels like the middle of the pandemic sometimes, when watching
  14. Albania would have made it just by having a semi-erotic show, I guess? Because the singing just didn't work, at all Austria was the most disappointing I think. Their song sounds excellent in the studio version, but the live performance was....not good. I guess the singer just isn't experienced enough yet and got sort of stuck with having such a huge audience.
  15. People in certain countries will be mad
  16. I would like to add to this that this means Denmark is screwed in my list, because no matter if Ukraine has a great or terrible song, there is no way they'll miss the final this year
  17. My final list 1 Netherlands 2 Portugal 3 Croatia 4 Switzerland 5 Iceland 6 Moldova 7 Bulgaria 8 Greece 9 Norway 10 Denmark 11 Lithuania 12 Armenia 13 Latvia 14 Austria 15 Slovenia 16 Albania 17 Ukraine
  18. If only her voice had held up (and the song had some sort of thing to remind it by)
  19. Norway Fun intermezzo, but not exactly a potential winner
  20. I hadn't heard a single song until today, so I'm making up my list on my first listen as we speak (and listen and watch)
  21. Wow, that did not go well for Austria.
  22. Croatia is now my 3rd place
  23. I have Bulgaria above Lithuania, Latvia, Slovenia, Albania and Ukraine, so top half so far
  24. Bulgaria kinda sounds like the Pokémon song, Gotta catch 'em all! I like it
  25. Host: - Says Latvia - Points at Lithuania
