Swedish SHL Frölunda HC are Swedish Champions! There's always a lot of pressure when you get to play the final series of a championship. And there's even more when you're at game #6 at your home, down 2-3 and with a packed stadium pushing your heart and your body to go beyond your actual skills. This must be the feeling that brought Daniel Brodin to begin the match more than "on fire", which led him to get a stupid penalty after only 8 seconds of play. Penalty that gave Frölunda the chance to open the score after less than 2 minutes, thanks to a goal scored by Samuel Fagemo. This goal put even more pressure on Djurgårdens' coach and players and led them to make some more mistakes. So, 5 minutes later the gust team doubled up their lead with their star, Ryan Lasch (who was also named Playoffs MVP, after the end of the game). The first period was really intense and full of action, with the home side having a desperate reaction which led them to shorten the distance just after the mid-point of the period, but Frölunda last night were on a mission and almost immediately restored the 2-goal margin thanks to a goal scored by Max Friberg. This was basically the turning point of the game: Djurgårdens couldn't match that anymore, their fans were taken out of the game and slowly but steadily Frölunda started to take the full control of the action. When the Norwegian Mats Rosseli Olsen scored the goal that gave the hosts a 4-1 lead after only 5 minutes of play into the second period, it was clear that it was all over, that Djurgårdens didn't have anything left in tank of both the physical and mental reserves. The final 35 minutes were just a long and anxious wait for Frölunda and their fans and a painful one for Djurgårdens and their fans. There was only a short moment when the home fans had the illusion that a miracle could still happen, after Emil Bemström scored the goal of the temporary 2-4, but it was just a question of a few minutes, before Rosseli Olsen netted his second goal of the night and definitively sealed the deal for the troop from Göteborg. Finnish Liiga, Finals: "refuse to lose"...HPK Hämeenlinna did religiously followed this motto...and therefore yesterday Kärpät Oulu didn't have any chance to enjoy the title... HPK won a very tense and heavily conditioned by tactics and fear (actually, quite boring, too) game #6 of the Liiga Final Series on the home ice by a score of 1-0 (thanks to a goal scored by Valtteri Puustinen in the 29th minute of play)... and because of that, now the series is tied 3-3 and it's all down to the decisive game #7, where anything can really happen... it's a real shame that it's almost impossible to follow that game in reasonably good conditions outside Finland... the Championship Game is scheduled for Tomorrow, May 4th in Oulu @ 5 p.m. local time, 4 p.m. CET game #6 highlights

first, she's still eligible for her "regular" races for a while (she's on the startlist in tomorrow's Doha DL meet, for instance), because she has 30 days (from yesterday) to appeal CAS' decision in a Swiss Civil Court...and until this procedure is over (in both ways, should she appeal or not), nothing's gonna change... then, if she doesn't appeal CAS' decision, she's still able to compete over her "regular" races if she takes the hormones regulators, which should lower her testosterone rate down to a "normal woman's level" (and she has to do it regularly for the 6 months preceding every race between 400m and 1500m/mile she wants to enter)... meanwhile, if she doesn't want to undergo that therapy (whose long terms effect are still controversial...some studies suggest that could lead to cancer if it's used for a very long period, but those same studies are not accepted by the entire medical community since thay haven't been conducted for a significant period yet, therefore it's too early to make any sort of "definitive statement" on the argument), she can still enter the other events of the athletics program... in any case, there's no ban (as a convicted doper) at all for her... she's only considered a sick woman, who need to be treated for her "disease"... p.s. it looks that she rather go up to the longer distances...I read just yesterday that last (South African) summer she had her first race over 5000m...and without a proper training for that distance, she beat the reigning South African Champion by more than 100m (the full final straight), even if the race was quite slow in overall terms...

question from someone who normally only watches world champs and Olympic competitions (and very few others, just occasionally)... what should we expect from him? Is he famous for good course designing or is he more on the controversial side of the job?

yes, when it's possible (actually, more than live, I watch them delayed, so I can cut all the pauses off and save some time)... apart from the NHL (I can watch all of their games on NHL.tv), I normally watch KHL, Swiss NLA, Czech and Slovak Extraliga(s) quite regularly because I can reach the TV channels broadcasting most of their matches... EBEL and DEL only for those games broadcasted on free TV/streaming (mainly/almost only during the playoffs) and SHL unfortunately only for saturday's playoffs games on TV4 Sweden (and only if KodiMod's IPTV list works, which isn't always the case)... anything else, it's only about watching highlights and reading newspapers/websites articles about it (trying to gather the most details -stats, fun facts and things like that- I can)... p.s. the Finnish Liiga is the most difficult one to follow...and not only because of their language...they only post very short highlights of very few matches on Youtube...live matches are basically impossible to find in reasonable picture quality outside Finland and even the regular highlights on the official website are heavily geo-blocked (I mean, you need a really good VPN to watch them, things like Hola and other free stuff don't work with Liiga's website)...

Czech Extraliga HC Ocelàři Třinec are the Champions! Finally, the team from Moravia turned the RS result around and won the Czech title for the second time after 2011. It's been a very tight 6-game battle...and game #6 was played with more or less the same storyline of the previous ones... every time a team could earn the advantage, the opponents were quickly capable of sending their answer, until something unexpected broke the still situation... yesterday, it was Liberec the first team to try and get the advantage in the opening period...but their lead didn't last for long, just as it happened to Třinec in the second period... and when it looked that the game was heading to OT for the 3rd time in a row, at minute 56.03, Třinec's Vladimir Roth suddenly find a goal out of nowhere...
