  1. It looks that we're going to add Croatia and Ireland (at least) to the list of NOCs qualified to the semifinals, which means that we're not going to have the definitive list of qualified Nationas already after today's qualification runs...
  2. no, the format is quite simple... Run 1 = top 20 advance to the semifinals (in the men's K1 I think it's top 30), the others go to the second run (basically, a repechage run)... Run 2 = top 10 advance to the semifinals, the others are out... semifinals = single run, the top 10 advance to the final (in the men's K1 it should be the top 15)... final = single run, the top 3 get Gold, Silver and Bronze medal, respectively...
  3. is this championship also the Asian Olympic qualifier?
  4. Men's Individual 300m Standard Rifle Gold: Bernhard Pickl Silver: Karl Olsson Bronze: Simon Claussen
  5. surely, but if they do that after another girl secured that quota, the AUS NOC would be immediately sued by that woman (whoever she is)... Australians are pretty tough in defending their achievements...
  6. definitely one of the true greats of the World of Sport overall, no matter what discipline we look at...
  7. because he posted an entry total weight too low to stay in group A (normally they keep only the 12/14 best entries in the top group at max to match the tv times requirements)...
  8. by the way, Italy started with a great performance, as usual... meanwhile, Slovakia...
  9. it could well be Rosalyn Lawrence to qualify the C1 boat for AUS... and in this case, according to what @Col_Frost wrote in another post, I think they will have a lot of troubles to double start Jess Fox, as, once she gets the qualification, Lawrence could go to the trial court to have her place secured, especially should she win a medal here (which is not likely, but not impossible too)...
  10. yeah, I know that...but apart from Australia (and surely not in Brisbane/Gold Coast...I'm pretty sure that the IOC wants Sydney to be the home of the Games once again, in case they choose to go downunder), I don't think we're ever going to see the Games hosted in the Southern Emisphere anymore... p.s. and by the way, guys! speak for your own... to me, when the temperature goes up the fridge-alike 3° / 4°C, it's always too hot and steamy...
  11. when they are on the channel 58, no...just the awful SD we're used to... and the streaming is no HD either, so...I hope BBC are going to show the entire championship...
  12. It's only about the IOC... after the Sydney Games, they said that the Olympics would be never held outside the "classic" late July/August slate anymore... why? I don't know... maybe they are scared about going against the Football season (on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, American Football in North America and "Soccer" in the rest of the world) for TV rights/TV ratings issues...
  13. Men's Individual 25m Center Fire Pistol Gold: Ruslan Lunev Silver: Pavlo Korostylov Bronze: Christian Reitz Men's Team 25m Center Fire Pistol Gold: Ukraine Silver: Germany Bronze: France Women's Individual 300m Prone Rifle Gold: Seonaid McIntosh Silver: Eva Roesken Bronze: Linda Olofsson Women's Team 300m Prone Rifle Gold: Switzerland Silver: Germany Bronze: Sweden Men's Individual 300m Prone Rifle Gold: Simon Claussen Silver: Remi Moreno Flores Bronze: Jan Lochbihler Men's Team 300m Prone Rifle Gold: Sweden Silver: Hungary Bronze: Switzerland 300m Mixed Team Event Gold: Switzerland 2 Silver: Sweden Bronze: Norway Men's Team 300m Standard Rifle Gold: Norway Silver: Switzerland Bronze: France
  14. no, they are going to reinstate raisport 2 for a few days as an independent tv channel, beside the usual raisport+ to show all the events they have to (Cycling, Athletics, Volleyball, Basketball and Canoeing)...
  15. I didn't notice that... it's always a pleasure to see that the Italian media people are not the only ones confusing Slovakia and Slovenia (and tenths, hundreds and thousends of a second)...
World Cup 2, 21-23 Jun 2019 Bratislava SLO - ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup 3, 28-30 Jun 2019 Tacen SLO - ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup 4, 30 Aug – 1 Sep 2019 Markkleeberg GER - ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup 5, 6 – 8 Sep 2019 Prague CZE - ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, 25 – 29 Sep 2019 La Seu d’Urgell ESP - ECA European Canoe Slalom Championships, 15 – 17 May 2020 Lee Valley GBR" for what I can understand, it's top 10 and you're in with no other requirements... meanwhile beyond top 10, you have to be at least once in the top 8 or twice in the top 12 of the named events (those at the bottom of the Dutch NOC criteria) fun fact...most of the qualification events are already dead and gone...basically, the Dutch paddlers only have the top 10 in the World champs and/or the top 8 at the next European champs as a chance to match their standard...
  17. it's their first Gold since the Independence... but when they were under the Soviet Union, they won World and Olympic Gold medals thanks to Kanybek Osmonaliyev (4 world titles and the 1980 Olympic Gold medal for him) in Weightlifting and thanks to Andrey Kurnyavka in Boxing (1989)... meanwhile Orzubek Nazarov was for quite a while WBA Lightweight world champion in PRO Boxing from 1993 through 1998...
  18. yeah... you Karate federation apparently is more powerful within the WKF/EKF than within the French NOC/Paris LOCOG...
  19. you just skipped the part "with such margin"... I do also believe that they're better runners than European and American people...but c'mon! a full lap of the track between an average East African runner (it doesn't matter which passport he/she's using of course) and the best in the rest of the world? no way... by the way, I just read on the Italian press that in the first days of the championships the weather forecast is going up to 48° C at 8 p.m. local time... and the women's Marathon + both 50km Race Walking events (men and women are racing together in that competition) are going to be cancelled (not postponed, just cancelled) if the temperature goes really that high (the final decision will be taken only 1 hour before the supposed start of the race in all cases)...
  20. Australia are just on another planet...there's no really decisive game for the top place in this tournament... the real fight is CHN vs TPE for the runner-up place (good for nothing)...
  21. and Ethiopia is no different as well... or does someone really believe that they are "superior runners" (with such margin on the rest of the world) by nature?
  22. that! there's no prize for that! by the way, raisport will cover the championships minute by minute...and if they don't make it a mess (which is always possible with our national tv ) there's more than a chance you can get the streaming on demand with the pasty.link system as it happened for the swimming worlds...
  23. for sure it's unfair...and personally I don't like this kind of approach to the management of the sport... but I wouldn't say "cheating", as the WKF has always been very vague about the calendar, saying that changes would be possible at any time... in any case, it's only 1 event giving up some points in the OQR, not direct quota places...so, the damage is limited (not that this is good, but at least it's not that disgraceful)...otherwise it would have been more than cheating, a true scandal...
