  1. no, it all goes down to Colazingari's idiotic mistake... he didn't need to take that risk, he did it and the whole Italian National team in Tokyo would eventually pay the prize... to me, he must be kicked out of the team and never ever paddle foir Italy even in a 110th tier event...
  2. I'm so sorry that this championship is being damaged by the lack of wind... and even more, I'm really annoyed by the fact that they don't have a streaming/tv production to show live races...Torbole is one of the most iconic places in the world for windsurfing and offers such a lovely landscape (nothing to share with the awful Enoshima Bay )... Standings before the Medal races: women 1st Lu Yunxiu, 46 pts 2nd Lilian De Geus, 52 pts 3rd Katy Spychakov, 54 pts 4th Marta Maggetti, 64 pts 5th Giorgia Speciale, 69 pts 6th Saskia Sills, 70 pts 7th Stefania Elfutina, 74 pts 8th Chen Peina, 78 pts 9th Chan Hei-Man H.V., 80 pts 10th Zofia Noceti-Klepacka, 83 pts men 1st Kiran Badloe, 24.0 pts 2nd Pierre Le Coq, 29.0 pts 3rd Dorian van Rijsselberghe, 39.0 pts 4th Byron Kokkalanis, 51.0 pts 5th Piotr Myszka, 62.0 pts 6th Thomas Goyard, 69.0 pts 7th Tom Reuveny, 90.0 pts 8th Daniele Benedetti, 94.0 pts 9th Cho Won Woo, 95.0 pts 10th Makoto Tomizawa, 106.0 pts
  3. thanks... however, also the final sprint wasn't so "clean" (but frankly I don't remember if it was him or another guy to make it a mess for some of the involved riders, among whom Battistella...I only saw the pictures once in the highlights of the race and stop)...
  4. no news on the web apart for her (amazing) results... the most "private" infos I could find are here: https://rallyuhccycling.com/team/megan-jastrab/ however, she's definitely a star in the making...she's "good" on the road and on the track* and she's already capable of winning races against senior women... *good = world champion, nontheless
  5. I saw that someone got closed against the barriers during the final sprint...probably that was judged an illegal move by the Dutch and he was DSQ... and tbh, if Battistella wasn't trapped and could start his sprint finish when he actually wanted, he would have won quite easily...in the last 50m he was flying double the speed of the Dutchman... p.s. it's the men's U-23 race, not the Junior's (which was raced yesterday)...
  6. women's Champions so far -40kg: Luca Mamira -44kg: Merve Azak -48kg: Hikai Yoshioka -52kg: Veronica Toniolo -57kg: Rin Eguchi -63kg: Habibe Afyonlu men's Champions so far -50kg: Nurkanat Serikbayev -55kg: Lin Chong-You -60kg: Keiji Tsujioka -66kg: Abrek Naguchev -73kg: Adam Kopecky -81kg: Ryunosuke Otake Full Results: http://www.ippon.org/wc_cad2019.php Medal Table: http://www.ippon.org/wc_cad2019.php
  7. Judo IJF Cadet World Championships 2019 Almaty (KAZ) - 25 September 2019 - 29 September 2019 3 days out of 4 dedicated to the individual competitions are gone...and guess what? Japan are dominating the event... so far, they have won already 4 Gold medals, with Turkey following with 2 Gold medals and a bunch of Nations (among them, Italy ) that won a single Gold medal... watching the bouts, it clear that they are still boys (and girls) aged 16 and / or 17...but in some cases, it's also well recognizable the talent and the very good technical skills that they have already developed... but the match that hits the news is not the best or the most spectacular one...it's the final of the girls' -52kg class between Liliia Nugaeva and Veronica Toniolo...they had to fight for a quarter of an hour before the decision came (4 mins of regulation plus another 10+ mins of golden score time) in the end, it was the Italian who won the gold medal...but in a certain sense it was quite disappointing that everything finshed because of a (deserved, tbh...it should have come well before) 3rd shido to the Russian...
  8. Grand Prix (Tashkent, UZB) Event Recap After a short pause following the World Championships, the IJF World Tour is back with a Grand Prix Tournament in Uzbekistan... and this time it was Russia to dominate the field, thanks to 5 Gold Medals (2 among the women, 3 among the men) out of the usual 14 weight classes... Austria (2 Gold medals among the women) and the local Team from Uzbekistan (2 Gold medals among the men) followed the Russians in the final medal table... the tournament was successful also for South Korea, Hungary, Greece (women) and Sweden, Georgia (men)... Japan did participate with only 3 men (2 Silver and 1 Bronze medal) and no women... here are the Champions of the 2019 Uzbekistan Grand Prix: women's Champions -48kg: Sabina Giliazova -52kg: Jeong Bo Kyeong -57kg: Hedvig Karakas -63kg: Kathrin Unterwurzacher -70kg: Elisavet Teltsidou -78kg: Bernadette Graf +78kg: Kseniia Chibisova men's Champions -60kg: Yago Abuladze -66kg: Yakub Shamilov -73kg: Khikmatillokh Turaev -81kg: Sharofiddin Boltaboev -90kg: Marcus Nyman -100kg: Kazbek Zankishev +100kg: Guram Tushishvili and here are the Full Results of the tournament: http://www.ippon.org/gp_uzb2019.php
  9. and after the second run, only 3 more NOCs must be added to this list: and so, games are not over yet, but almost...
  10. have 2 different girls in C1, Vika Us (who qualified in K1, too), but also Vika Dobrotvorska (qualified in today's C1 only)... I don't think they're going to reject 1 of those 2 quotas... meanwhile and could actually opt for C1 instead of K1 quota, but I still asking myself why should they do something like that when they're still getting a place in both events in any case by taking the first available quota in K1? imho, there won't be any strange manouvre...all the places awarded in K1 will stay and the rest of the C1 girls won't have any bad surprise (nor the K1 girls who stayed out yesterday are going to have any good news)... the only Nation that could make something "unhortodox" to me is Australia, but only because the Fox family could be in the need of protecting Noemie from Lawrence's assault in C1 or just because they really want Jess to double start (and as we wrote in the past few days, I'm not sure they will be allowed/they can afford to reject the second quota overall to do that)...
  11. because she's the same who qualified yesterday in the K1 discipline...and she can't qualify 2 boats, therefore today it's like she's not competing for the Olympic Quota... actually, I should have mentioned her with and as someone who could choose which race to keep as a qualifier, but still, I don't see why she should give up the first one (K1) to get the second one (C1), when nothing changes for her NOC (or for her, personally), as she's the only competitive US girl in all the disciplines...
  12. meanwhile, in the men's K1 (18 passes available), after the first qualification run, we have the following 18 NOCs already through to the Semifinals:
  13. well, in any case for most of those who can choose to switch, it doesn't change anything, as there's always another teammate within the qualifying cutoff... the only 2 girls that would eventually change something are Satila and Jones, who can decide who among the currently first and second out sneak in in both classes... and in both cases, I think they also don't need to take any decision, as they both would eventually be double starting as the only qualified paddler from their respective Nation... all the other Countries are already OK in both disciplines with different paddlers or just can't switch anything... by the way, more NOCs eligible for the quota places must be added to the list after women's C1 run #2: with & being among those who also qualified yesterday in K1 and being at the same time the only qualified paddler from their respective Nation (together with Satila, who qualified already after run #1)... so, in the women's C1 we have 14 NOCs for 11 places (and 3 more girls who could opt for this race too rather than yesterday's, if they really qualify through this event)...
  14. so far, if we get rid of double starters who already qualified yesterday in women's K1 and can't get another quota place for their NOC, we have the perfect 11 Countries qualified to the Semifinals of the women's C1 after the 1st run... if no other Nation qualifies through the 2nd run, the Olympic Qualification is done already with today's races...
  15. I'd rather like him to build a Madison team with Viviani...with both in their best shape, they could destroy the field (except for Australia, if they have Cameron Meyer at his best, too)... I don't think he's going to be a medal candidate in the time trial on the road...
  16. and with this last bunch of medallists, I hope we're done with this everlasting championships... I feel a bit exhausted... p.s. and, as I promised, no more medal tables...
  17. Women's Individual 300m 3-Position Rifle Gold: Jolyn Beer Silver: Andrea Bruhelmann Bronze: Silvia Guignard Schnyder Women's Team 300m 3-Position Rifle Gold: Germany Silver: Switzerland Bronze: Sweden Men's Individual 300m 3-Position Rifle Gold: Simon Claussen Silver: Bernhard Pickl Bronze: Peter Sidi Men's Team 300m 3-Position Rifle Gold: Norway Silver: France Bronze: Switzerland
  18. however, until we get back to the glowing pucks, I'm OK with almost anything new...
  19. according to the documents we were looking at yesterday, no, as she still has the next european champs to save her quota before NED NOC reject it (if she makes the top 8 there, she matches the NED NOC criteria)... still, with AUS and NZL already qualified, will get their quota in any case at the Continental qualifier... basically, it's a win-win situation for her...
  20. it's not anymore the sport our fathers did show us for the first time, but it's becoming always more and more interesting... https://en.khl.ru/news/2019/09/26/456828.html
  21. yes, you're right...I thought they were already among the qualified NOCs after the first run, but now I've fixed the list...
  22. Colazingari is an idiot...he took an unnecessary risk at one gate and now he's most likely going to get a "50" which would get him out of contention... he was by far the quickest starter (after Tasiadis) in this run...why taking such a fuc*in' risk? EDIT: he actually got the "50" and he's out...IDIOT!!! by the way, Tasiadis is the super-excellent elimination of the day... so, now we have the confirmation... / / / / are added to the list of NOCs qualified to the semis...on Saturday, it will be a race with 16 NOCs aiming at the 11 passes...
  23. now it's official...Marinic is qualified to the semifinals... his chances to make the final are low, but those to earn a quota place for Tokyo are still there (11 passes for 13/14 NOCs...it's always possible)...
  24. and Switzerland, too (meanwhile IRL is at high risk now)...
