  1. yeah, I saw those bouts and sometimes I had a difficult time to understand what refs and judges were doing... I think they have to find the way to end this kind of controversies if they want the sport to have a bright future... I'm sure IOC is there with their lenses to find an excuse to drop GR and cut some spots/weights for the other styles...it would be extremely stupid to give them a chance because of bad/not easily understandable rules and even worse officiating...
  2. Updated after the African and the European Qualification Tournaments, as of April 25th, 2021
  3. yeah, she's Russian (actually, she only switched to AZE in 2018)... she was born in Togliatti in 1996...
  4. what does it means? (if it means something)...
  5. what do you think about Kerem Kamal's throw on Emelin in the -60kg final, when they first awarded 4 points to the Turkish guy and then they cancelled them after the Russian coach's challenge?
  6. my picks... women...just call me when someone can at least give a scare to the US girls... men...I'm totally biased here, so I decided to go with Italy...it's time for us to add another Gold medal to our amazing record...
  7. wow! that's an amazing job! the best I've ever seen... thank you, guys!
  8. KHL, Finals, Game #4 Very exciting game #4 of the Gagarin Cup Series... CSKA Moscow started strong on the wings of the last 2 games' wins and earned a 2-goal lead after just 12 mins of play... But Avangard this time didn't surrender and fought back 1, 2, 3 times until they got a 3-2 lead with only 5 mins left in regulation... and then came the CSKA fireworks...finally, after 5 mins of sustained pressure, in pure desperation mode, the men from the Capital scored the tying goal thanks to Matt Robinson in power play with only 1 second left on the clock! But when everybody started to think that momentum was going all towards CSKA, after only 5 mins into the OT, Pavel Dedunov scored an amazing and unbelievable short-handed goal to give Avangard the win in this amazing match, tying the series at 2 apiece... Game #5 is scheduled for next Monday, April 26th, at 7.30 p.m. Moscow time (6.30 p.m. CET) in Moscow... Avangard Omsk - CSKA Moscow 4-3 after OT (series score: 2-2) Game #4 stats: https://en.khl.ru/game/1046/877124/protocol/ Highlights:
  9. Extraliga, Finals, Game #4 A lone goal by Matej Stransky about 9 mins into the OT decided the 4th episode of the Czech Final Series... Once again, actually, more than ever, it was a close, tactical battle, but to be honest, also a rather boring match, where really few exciting plays happened... Now HC Oceláři Třinec are leading the series 3-1 and next Monday they have the chance to close things down in a home clash... Game #4 in fact is scheduled for next Monday, April 26th, at 5 p.m. local time (CET) in Třinec... Bílí Tygři Liberec - HC Oceláři Třinec 0-1 after OT (series score: 1-3) Game #4 stats: https://hokej.cz/zapas/2894222 Highlights
  10. no, never... rather, throw Fencing out of the Olympics in full... there's no need to ruin another sport because of the idiots running the IOC, thanks... better alone that with bad company...
  11. well, Badminton is one of the few sports I don't follow regularly (actually, I normally only watch world champs and olympic finals)... so, I picked those who most likely are the pre-competition favourites because they are the reigning world/Oly,pic champions and/or on top of the world ranking... so, in the women's singles I went with Carolina Marin (I remember her dominating in Rio and I know she won so many titles she deserves a lot of consideration), Chen Yufei (because China is China...and in badminton this means a lot) and Nozumi Okuhara (home advantage, good ranking and I saw on the Japanese TV that they always dedicate a lot of space to her, so i assume they expect a top result in their home Olympics)... in the women's doubles I just picked the 2 Japanese pairs because they're on top of the world ranking and because of the home advantage) and the Korean pair with Lee So Hee (because they're the top ranked pair not coming from either Japan and China...and I'd like to see a good spread of medals also in this sport not to get bored to death)...
  12. yes, it's wrong... this is the official qualification sheet by IWF (paragraph B5): https://www.iwf.net/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2020/05/FINAL-2020-05-26-Tokyo-2020-Revised-Qualification-system-Weightlifting-eng.pdf
  13. I agree... I only reported the interpretation given by that website (which usually follows gymnastics very well and in depth)...and accordig to them, World Cup Apparatus ranking has priority over Continental quota and it's not up to the single Countries to choose which of those quota they want to use...
  14. some details (and photos)... https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-56858863
  15. KHL, Finals, Game #3 It was once again a very tactical, close match with a couple of flashes in the first period, when Avangard took the lead, but they couldn't keep it even until the end of the first stint, as CSKA scored the equalizer in the 19th minute... then, nothing really relevant happened until Maxim Shalunov (once again!) found the go-ahead goal for CSKA midway through the final period... Avangard's reaction however wasn't good enough to comeback and therefore CSKA could celebrate the win that puts them in the lead of the final series and gives them the home field advantage back... Game #4 is scheduled for next Saturday, April 24th, at 5 p.m. Moscow time (4 p.m. CET) still in Balashikha (Avangard's home ice)... Avangard Omsk - CSKA Moscow 1-2 (series score: 1-2) Game #3 stats: https://en.khl.ru/game/1046/877123/protocol/ Highlights:
  16. Extraliga, Finals, Game #3 Bílí Tygři Liberec shortened the distance in the Czech Extraliga Finals by taking the first home game of the series, 3-0 the final score yesterday against HC Oceláři Třinec... Game #4 is scheduled for Today afternoon at 5 p.m. local time (CET)... Bílí Tygři Liberec - HC Oceláři Třinec 3-0 (series score: 1-2) Game #3 stats: https://hokej.cz/zapas/2894221 Highlights
  17. our social media don't even know that a sport named gymnastics exists...
  18. Petrounias can still earn his spot by himself by scoring more than 15.334 in Doha, despite what China might decide on their team and quota...
  19. according to our sport website OA, they can't...they're only choice is to keep their man leading the Parallel Bars ranking home from the last WC event in Doha and hope someone overtake him in said ranking... otherwise they would necessarily have to take the World Cup series cards instead of the Continental quota (which would go to Bartolini, ITA)... same situation for China in Asia...even if they get the Continental quota, they are going to leave it on the table because of the World Cup ones (they have 2 men leading 2 disciplines, even if Petrounias could still steal one of those)... to me, the people that invented this qualification procedure are absolutely crazy, a bunch of idiots...
  20. my picks... men's Gold: Belgium...definitely the safest choice, as they've been the strongest team in the world by far in the last 3/4 years... women's medallists: Netherlands (they can only lose the Gold medal by themselves), Argentina (at least, I hope they get a medal...vamos Leonas! ) and "any other" (meaning Australia)...
  21. how many chances are there that China would eventually not show up in the men's -81kg in Tokyo? I mean, they have to choose among 4 weight classes...given their advantage over the closest rivals, -61, -67 and -73 are almost a lock, I guess... but what about no.4? is it gonna be -81kg or a heavier class? you know...Italy might have a little interest in that...
  22. they don't even have respect for the 130 year old motto... ps if they just want to disrespect history, at least they could do it in the proper language, which in this case is Latin...
  23. Field Hockey (because it's likely the only one still having the Olympic games as their main target, while many others are more focused on the rich club season, despite what they publicly say )... and because I like the sport (and there are not so many chances to watch the highest level of play during the rest of the 4-year span, especially here in italy)...of course...
  24. but why did they also take the penalty shootout after the game, even if SVK won at the OT? is that the new fashion of 2021?
  25. FIFA already has the full women and men's Football schedule (even if I think the start time of each game is still subject to change)... https://www.fifa.com/womensolympic/matches/ https://www.fifa.com/mensolympic/matches/
