quite a good championship for Italy, great among the girls (1 gold, 1 silver, 3 bronze, all 9 in the top 7), not so exciting among the boys (1 5th and 1 7th place only)...
what's good in the boys' section is the fact that the best result came in the -100kg category, with our guy only losing to the eventual gold medal winner in the semifinal bout (and in the bronze medal bout)...
what's not so good in the women's section is the fact that our super-talent, 18 year young world champion, plays her judo in the -52kg class, where we already have our 2-time olympic medallist Odette Giuffrida (and there's no chance to put one of the 2 girls in a different weight class until 2024 at least)...
in general, Japan returned on the world scene after last year's absence and they did it in style by dominating the field with 6 gold medals in the 14 individual events and then in the team event (of course)...
the remaining 8 gold medals went to 8 different Countries (6 from Europe, 2 from Central Asia)...
