  1. Schwiiiitzzzz!!! they just eliminated in the women's Team Epee quarterfinals!
  2. it was in the air after the crazy 95 meters he swum yesterday in the 100m race like all the Russians, he's had now 1 and half year to "build" himself with no eyes on
  3. men's Individual Foil Gold: Tommaso Marini Silver: Nick Itkin Bronze: Enzo Lefort & Kyosuke Matsumoto Semifinals Itkin b. Matsumoto 15-10 Marini b. Lefort 15-13 Gold Medal Match Marini b. Itkin 15-13 Full Ranking & Results https://www.fencingworldwide.com/en/2978-2022/results/
  4. women's Individual Sabre Gold: Misaki Emura Silver: Despina Georgiadou Bronze: Theodora Gkountoura & Yoana Ilieva Semifinals Emura b. Gkountoura 15-14 Georgiadou b. Ilieva 15-8 Gold Medal Match Emura b. Georgiadou 15-11 Full Ranking & Results https://www.fencingworldwide.com/en/2983-2022/results/
  5. it's not only Lefort there are quite a few fencers that try too often to cover their target illegally refs should be stricter in enforcing the rules about that
  6. no, they don't have a 3rd good fencer, unfortunately even with 2 among the best (and even in a "poor" weapon like women's sabre), it's impossible to make the top 8 on regular basis with a 3rd member like Greece's 3rd
  7. Despina Georgiadou will face Emura in the women's Sabre gold medal match she won 15-8 vs Ilieva in the 2nd semifinal
  8. I just want to see how it would end up in shooting, if they dare to put Russians and Ukranians in the same competition
  9. Misaki Emura still in play to defend her world title she won the 1st semifinal match against Gkountoura by a score of 15-14
  10. it would take too much time in the past (until the early Nineties) they used to have the "final block" starting with the quarterfinals, but the rules were different (shorter matches, only 1 weapon each day as there were only 4 events, women's epee and sabre were still to come) and the tv stations basically didn't even know that fencing existed (even the Italian TV used to show just the medal matches as a tape delay after midnight -unless they were really early in the afternoon because of time difference) I remember the women's Foil in Barcelona 1992...the quarterfinals started at 8 p.m. and the gold medal match ended way beyond midnight nowadays no TV network would tolerate such kind of fencing marathon
  11. women's Individual Foil, Semifinals Misaki Emura vs Theodora Gkountoura Despina Georgiadou vs Yoana Ilieva men's Individual Foil, Semifinals Nick Itkin vs Kyosuke Matsuyama Tommaso Marini vs Enzo Lefort
  12. are out in the men's Team Sabre they lost 45-42 vs
  13. women's Individual Sabre, Quarterfinals Misaki Emura vs Martina Criscio Manon Brunet-Apithy vs Theodora Gkountoura Despina Georgiadou vs Yang Hengyu Yoana Ilieva vs Sara Balzer
  14. (beat ) and (beat ) are already through to the quarterfinals in the men's Team Sabre are struggling badly against
  15. Criscio survived a scare (she looked injured to her left knee at some point) and she's through to the quarterfinals in the women's Sabre
  16. I hope to survive that match, frankly
  17. absolute disaster for in the men's Foil we're gonna have only 1 fencer in the top 8 Garozzo is...Garozzo but Foconi is clearly boiled...maybe it would have been better to give Guillaume Bianchi a chance
  18. men's Individual Foil, Round of 16 Carlos Llavador vs Daniel Dosa Ryan Choi Chun Yin vs Nick Itkin Cheung Ka Long vs Alexander Choupenitch Kyosuke Matsuyama vs Abdelrahman Tolba Kristjan Archer vs Rafael Savin Tommaso Marini vs Filippo Macchi Mohamed Hamza vs Jonas Winterberg-Poulsen Enzo Lefort vs Miles Chamley-Watson
  19. correction, 1 single PB (Ceccon in his winning race over 50m fly) that's it
  20. and the first real disappointing performance for has come Daniele Garozzo is out in rd #2 of the men's individual Foil, losing 15-11 to Winterberg-Poulsen
  21. however, it's clear that something went wrong in the Italian training camp basically, we didn't swim a single PB in all the championship (the only people close to that were Ceccon, Quadarella and Miressi in the relay -but then he miserably failed the individual event) that's not normal
  22. naaa...the problem is that he's been sick all year long he had to stop training for at least a week/10 days 6 different times if he can stay healthy, I think he can still be at the top of the game in the 1500m (the 800m should be abandoned, given the insane amount of people going below 7.40 and with margin), even if, personally, I'd like him to focus only on the 10km in Paris
  23. no.1 seed in the men's Foil, Alexander Massialas is out! he lost in the 2nd round vs Carlos Llavador (15-11 the score)
  24. b. 45-44 in the women's Team Epee (rd of 16) and are also already through to the quarterfinals (together with as previously mentioned)
  25. I think they would never be in any case...
