  1. here we go! 3 girls in the medal round!
  2. by the way, we're good 25 mins behind schedule...luckily, today no ceremony with all those "mr. President"
  3. no miracle by medal safe for
  4. updated... men's Individual Epee, Quarterfinals Davide Di Veroli vs Francisco Limardo Niko Vuorinen vs Romain Cannone Gergely Siklosi vs Mate Tamas Koch Ruslan Kurbanov vs Valerio Cuomo
  5. yes! also Cuomo in the quarterfinals!
  6. men's Individual Epee, Quarterfinals Davide Di Veroli vs Kazuyasu Minobe / Francisco Limardo Niko Vuorinen vs Romain Cannone / Vadim Anokhin Gergely Siklosi vs Mate Tamas Koch / Flavio Giannotte Ruslan Kurbanov vs Koki Kano / Valerio Cuomo
  7. well, she got some good results as a cadet/junior maybe she's one of those girls who needed some time to switch from the youth to the senior level
  8. I just lost 10 years of life! what a moron, Di Veroli is! a lucky moron, at least...
  9. women's Individual Foil, Quarterfinals Arianna Errigo vs Marina Calugareanu Martina Favaretto vs Sera Azuma Alice Volpi vs Martina Batini Anne Sauer vs Lee Kiefer
  10. and here we go! Martina Batini is also through to the quarterfinals maximum result still possible, 4 girls in the top 8 (and 1 safe in the medal ranking -but also 1 mathematically out of the medals because of the Volpi vs Batini matchup)
  11. actually, I'm impressed with Errigo's very, very good physical & mental shape so far she was really outstanding in last year's gold medal match revenge against Thibus
  12. that's what I expect, nontheless but I also expect Di Veroli to take a medal in the men's Epee, tbh (and not a bronze )
  13. I don't think have any chance against the European teams however, yes, it would eventually come down to the bracket...a lucky draw might help and we could see some very unfair drama...
  14. not to mention that Borel just survived a scare and beat Vismara in the extra-time in the men's Epee
  15. women's Individual Foil, Round of 16 Ysaora Thibus vs Arianna Errigo Marina Calugareanu vs Leandra Behr Martina Favaretto vs Anita Blaze Maia Mei Weintraub vs Sera Azuma Alice Volpi vs Julia Walczyk-Klimaszyk Huang Qianqian vs Martina Batini Anne Sauer vs Pauline Ranvier Lee Kiefer vs Jacqueline Dubrovich

Sun 14-10 Gold Medal Match Candassamy b. Santuccio 15-12 Full Ranking & Results https://www.fencingworldwide.com/en/2981-2022/results/
  19. and the silver medal collection continues...
  20. no, pleae! I wouldn't stand another day like today!
  21. hopefully not! we've already experienced too many disappointing losses today!
  22. why? whyyy? why having the opening ceremony in the middle of the finals? if I were an athlete involved in one of today's gold medal matches I'd get mad (it's worse than the 40 minute interval at the Superbowl) by the way, it's not that usual to have the President of the Republic participating to this kind of ceremonies in Italy...Fencing is always making miracles in this Country
  23. Dershwitz what a comeback! he beat Aron Szilagyi by a score of 15-13 and he's going to face Bazadze in the gold medal match of the men's Sabre
  24. you know, sometimes those red cards are the correct decision...but in this case I don't think it was. meanwhile to me the call on the last hit was perfect.
  25. Sandro Bazadze is the first finalist of the men's Sabre he beat Ziad Elsissy by a score of 15-14 (after a quite controversial red card to the Egyptian when he was leading 13-12)
