  1. women's Individual Sabre, Round of 16 Misaki Emura vs Sylwia Matuszak Caitlin Maxwell vs Martina Criscio Manon Brunet-Apithy vs Rossella Gregorio Larissa Eifler vs Theodora Gkountoura Despina Georgiadou vs Yoon Ji Su Yang Hengyu vs Jeon Ha Young Anna Bashta vs Yoana Ilieva Sara Balzer vs Shao Yaqi
  2. and Paltrinieri is on his way home he won't even try to defend his 1500m free title...he's gone for this year (and maybe forever in the pool)
  3. wow! I didn't watch the men's foil draw that carefully...but it's a complete disaster for Marini and Macchi are set to face each other in the round of 16 and they're in the same half of the draw with Garozzo (who has a potential quarterfinal vs the reigning world champion Lefort before a -very- theoretical all Italian semifinal) by the way, Gerek Meinhardt is the first big name to leave the tournament early: he lost against Heo Jun by a score of 15-11 in the round of 64
  4. in the meantime, in Russia, Kolesnikov swum 51.82 in the men's 100m backstroke (literally dying in the last 5 meters, as he was destroying Ceccon's world record in the previous 95)
  5. no, she should be taken out of the hall by the police forces...call the Carabinieri! right now!
  6. Austria are the comfortable nighbours...Bratislava to Vienna...just 20 mins drive from home (if it wasn't for traffic)
  7. the bad weather and Italy's surprising struggles against Philippines allowed Japan and to earn the the 2 available spots in Group C for the 2024 World Cup Finals (the last chance match between and was definitively cancelled last night) however, Italy (Host Nation) and China were given the 2 wild cards and therefore they will participate to the Final Tournament next year https://www.wbsc.org/en/events/2023-xvii-womens-softball-world-cup-group-c/news/wbsc-womens-softball-world-cup-group-c-day-5-live-blog the 8 teams competing in the 2024 Softball World Cup are: United States Australia Puertorico Netherlands Japan Canada China Italy (Host Nation)
  8. I really hope she can be on the piste tomorrow she deserves to qualify to the Olympics, even if the team fails (of course I wish them to qualify, but in case it doesn't happen, Kharlan needs a plan B)
  9. men's Individual Epee Gold: Mate Tamas Koch Silver: Davide Di Veroli Bronze: Romain Cannone & Ruslan Kurbanov Semifinals Di Veroli b. Cannone 15-5 Koch b. Kurbanov 15-11 Gold Medal Match Koch b. Di Veroli 14-10 Full Ranking & Results https://www.fencingworldwide.com/en/2980-2022/results/
  10. women's Individual Foil Gold: Alice Volpi Silver: Arianna Errigo Bronze: Martina Favaretto & Lee Kiefer Semifinals Errigo b. Favaretto 15-10 Volpi b. Kiefer 15-13 Gold Medal Match Volpi b. Errigo 15-10 Full Ranking & Results https://www.fencingworldwide.com/en/2979-2022/results/
  11. just watched the men's epee final... and nothing...congrats to Koch for both the fair play and the deserved gold medal
  12. unfortunately now I have to leave back later after I watch the rest of the session (delayed)
  13. Volpi beat Kiefer 15-13 and secures the full set of medals for the Host Nation
  14. and it's a sweep!!! triplete! gold, silver and bronze for
  15. despite being the no.3 seed, have a much more difficult route to the medal round than (no.4 seed), who basically have a clean pathway to the semifinals we have to go vs our bete noir in the quarterfinals and, in case, in the semis same in the men's Sabre, vs in a theoretical QTF and then (or but it's unlikely) waiting for the winner in the semis
  16. 12 months and 2 siblings later, Arianna Errigo is back in the gold medal match in the women's Foil she won against martina Favaretto by a score of 15-10
  17. will be dangerous in the team event, I fear have to check the draw, but I really hope it's not on our route in the early rounds once again
  18. Cuomo just wasted the chance of his life...he lost against Kurbanov, despite the man from was struggling with cramps and visibly limping on one leg on the other hand, Di Veroli found the way to turn things around in a very complicated assault against Francisco Limardo
  19. men's Individual Epee, Semifinals Davide Di Veroli vs Romain Cannone Tamas Mate Koch vs Ruslan Kurbanov
  20. the only good swimmer left is Ceccon, we're lucky if we can get the same 3 silver, 2 bronze total we got in Tokyo our only chance is repeating in Athletics (not impossible, considered that we have 1 more race walking event favourable to us and Iapichino seems to be ready to become the next big thing in women's LJ...Jacobs and the men's 4*100m of course don't have a chance to repeat themselves) and sweeping the Fencing and Shotgun Shooting events (which gave us something like 0 gold medals in Tokyo) and we also have more chances, but really...20 gold medals is crazy
  21. well, that's not a crazy preview like the 20 gold medals for I mean, they didn't consider a Dutch gold in the women's road race (cycling), MTB (VDP among the men and/or Pieterse among the women), no other Track Cycling medal, no "gambles" on fight sports (and in Judo you have some chances), only 2 gold medals in Sailing (when you have at least 3 big contenders)...
  22. no way we can get all those gold medals (not that I don't hope to see a miracle Games for but really, where do 20 gold medals come out from? only if everything goes much more than well, with everybody overperforming...actually, having the day of their life all together)
  23. just let me know their pusher! he/she must have very good material!
  24. women's Individual Foil, Semifinals Arianna Errigo vs Martina Favaretto Alice Volpi vs Lee Kiefer
  25. Errigo just mindblowing...better than ever! if only she had the right mindset throughout her career...
