Qualification Tracker

Test

Everything posted by phelps

  1. is a bad miss by them, and and imho are ahead of the 3 crews listed as "likely to qualify" ( actually "should qualify" if the waves are not that big and the wind isn't too strong) p.s. "almost a lock" OK, but it might well be Ugolini/Giubilei instead of the Olympic Champions ( also is "almost a lock")
  2. maybe the in that area of the women's 49er FX are a bit overestimated... and surely is in the mix above and
  3. yes, unfortunately it's only a minimum effort by the sh*tty world sailing...if they can't cover at least their main event happening once every 4 years, they'd be better close everything down...
  4. p.s. if it doesn't work for you, just get rid of all the url part following sapsailing.com
  5. here you get all the info and live trackers you want https://worlds2023.sapsailing.com/gwt/Home.html#/event/:eventId=03b11a50-8446-43e9-878c-6cb60dc75715 on youtube, you also get full video coverage of the event
  6. the traditional spirit of sport climbing is represented only and exclusively by the lead event anything else, it's just been created to help the development and the spreading of the discipline outside its traditional (small) world and to try and catch some media coverage (not to mention the abominable combined event, born on the sole aim to earn the Olympic status despite being far from any existing concept in sport climbing until 4/5 years ago) p.s. however, I agree in large part with the idea expressed by our friend @De_Gambassi
  7. I'm not saying that this is a useless event by itself... I'm just saying that there should be some interval between the main competitions, since in swimming it's quite normal being very competitive at a young age if all the events are held basically at the same time, they are all going to be somehow not as good and competitive as they might be if they were better spread through the year
  8. Zurloni! finally! it's already a year that he was expected to get some big results and in the world cup events he always missed out on showing his quality let's hope he doesn't age bad too quickly, as Fossali did after his great win a few years ago
  9. beat both (89-88, yesterday) and (74-70, earlier today) in Athens in a couple of warm-up matches I think that's somehow "dangerous" for us, creating too much hype for a team that's not good enough to get a remarkable result at the world cup, despite an easy route to quarterfinals
  10. european juniors, worlds, university games just gone and now this new event in less than a month? frankly, the swimming governing bodies are going a bit too far, imho however, from an Italian perspective, this competition might get a lot of hype because of the announced comeback by Lorenzo Galossi, after a year full of troubles (mononucleosis and cytomegalovirus all together, 2 changes of coach, a lot of doubts going through his mind) let's see how he does this weekend? I'm really curious and I hope he's at least in decent shape (not expecting to be even close to his PBs, but at least swimming reasonably fast)
  11. meanwhile, last night Michael Lorentzen no-hit the Washington Nationals finally one of my pitchers in fantasy baseball doing something great
  12. in a warm-up meet in Vicenza, last night Zane Weir recorded 22.15m (and twice 22.13m) in the men's shot put in the same competition, Leonardo Fabbri was second with a 21.84m put Ryan Crouser is definitely out of reach, but maybe we might have a chance for the "minor" medals in this event
  13. a few days ago, after the last Italian success in a youth championship, I read an amzing stat: are currently holding all the men and women's European titles at the same time, from the seniors to the U16
  14. wonderful, wonderful race! that was a great show in a week with very few highlights, tbh
  15. the tenure of UCI in those years made a disaster after another to track cycling by eliminating historical races and replacing them with pure sh*t (like omnium) they should just get rid of that and go back (and forth) with the standalone races (elimination, points)
  16. I don't agree, longer tracks only mean boring endurance races, with no chance to gain laps basically, the point/lap-based races will only be about the intermediate sprints no way, it's the jury (and the technology helping them) that must be good enough to manage this kind of events
  17. the lowest point for the team in the last 7/8 years in this kind of tournaments no one of our guys is in decent shape right now
  18. wow! what an upset! Horakova today was just on fire...she destroyed every opponent 6-0 never saw anybody so dominant, not even the great Koreans or Ellison or choose the archer you like the most
  19. Men's Lead, Finalists Paul Jenft Sean Bailey Lee Do Hyun Sorato Anraku Song Yun Chan Ao Yurikusa Alexander Megos Jakob Schubert Adam Ondra Toby Roberts
  20. Women's Lead, Finalists Miho Nonaka Mia Krampl Jessica Pilz Seo Chae Hyun Laura Rogora Molly Thompson-Smith Brooke Raboutou Janja Garnbret Ai Mori
  21. as I thought, they decided to let all the tied scores go through to the final, therefore we have a 9-woman final and a 10-man final in the lead events
  22. Hlìnka-Gretzky Cup Gold Medal Match b. 3-2 OT (1-1, 2-0, 0-1, 1-0) Bronze Medal Match b. 5-2 (3-0, 1-2, 1-0)
  23. Hlìnka-Gretzky Cup Semifinals b. 8-2 (2-1, 4-0, 2-1) b. 7-2 (1-2, 3-0, 3-0) 5th/6th Place Match vs 3-2 OT (0-0, 2-2, 0-0, 1-0) 7th/8th Place Match b. 6-4 (3-1, 1-1, 2-2)
  24. however, I think the course setters are not doing a good job in this championship they set up way too easy (and way too unbalanced type of) boulders and today they got too harsh with the lead routes (especially the women's one is nopt making the difference in more points, but has a killer hold that would eventually lead to too many tied scores))
  25. actually, in the past thay also allowed more than 8 climbers to make the final, but normally it shouldn't happen
