    Commentator has been watching athletics for 35+ years, so he knows his stuff. Plus Kitaguchi isn't at all that spectacular if we have to be honest. Still, if we have a close competition i can live with that.

    Our commentator is burying the women's javelin and i mean burying "The women's javelin, one of the few disciplines, which has regressed dramatically in the past years. Not only results wise, but name wise. There are no recognizable names. Everyone in athletics knew Barbora Špotáková, Christina Obergföll, Mariya Abakumova, Steffi Nerius. You could name them in your sleep. Now, who are the stars in the javelin? You don't know, as they are all bland. "

    I'm cautious with the expectations as haven't seen good stuff from the wrestlers so far. The Bisultanov match isn't an easy one.

    Canada has had good sprinters though, so it's not uncommon to think that you can transition such athletes into good horizontal jumpers. The javelin, yeah i can agree to that, though i fully expect by LA 2028 to see Canadians fighting for medals in the javelin too

    This has been dragging sooooo much. I thought by now they would have finished, since it started 3 hours ago, but there is still another 3 medal matches. Now it's going to overlap with boxing. I hate the schedule this week...

    Well spoke too soon By the way, our commentators were making some word play - "If around Rio 2016, someone from the future had told you, that in 2 Olympic cycles, in what athletics discipline Canada will win both the male and female events, you will list out every other discipline before reaching the Hammer throw" That is how bizarre Canada's progress in this event is seen here, as it has always been associated with the Eastern Bloc.
