  1. Agree. But canceling half of the DHs and not having where to replace them is also an issue. A season with only 4 DH equally devalues the World Cup. They tried optimizing the calendar with making technical and speed weekends, but that works when we run everything normally and cancel 7 out of the first 10 events.. Now they can't catch up, because the speed weekends are already stacked up and you can't add to resorts, which are having only GS & Slaloms.
  2. Of course it doesn't matter for them, i was talking about my personal viewing schedule (and for other people who want to watch multiple sports). Anyone who thinks this isn't a cash grab is deluding themselves. They had no issues finishing round 1 on Monday-Tuesday for decades, especially in Australia, where there is no issue with rain. Waiting now to see, which GS will bring a Saturday start, so they have "3 full weekends".
  3. But the night sessions are still there, they are not getting rid of them.
  4. Aaahm, since when is AO starting on a Sunday Now why are they doing this and disrupting the Sunday wintersport schedule Tennis Australia wanting to squeeze the good attendance money.
  5. Some very intriguing clashes on the women's side. The men's draw is much more balanced. Let's see what the schedule looks like for day 1 and who gets the heat sessions.
  6. If things are true and this is Nadal's last year, then most likely he already played his final match in Australia. Not the way he wanted to go out.
  7. I've said it before and will say it again. The Ballon Dor lost every credibility it had after 2010 and shouldn't be mentioned as an important achievement by any respectable football fan.
  8. The tournament, which 95% of European club football fans hate. Especially ones for the "all mighty" English league.
  9. It is by the evidence of 80 pages and other threads for the big events of past years. But almost no one comments in the last 1-2 years. I myself haven't been watching as much as 4-5-7 years ago, but still follow all results and watch whenever i can. Presume people prioritise other stuff to watch as well. Also some of the decisions the PDC have made lately have hindered some of my interests. That and because it's not been on regular TV here in years.
  10. Biathlon isn't usually a sport, where the calendar is a problem, but interesting where to put the German rounds, so they don't have problems every year. Early January was great for them 10-15 years ago. A nice idea for me would be to move the World Championships to the last third of January. Have 1 World Cup after New Years, then a week off, then the 2 weeks of the Worlds. You could then schedule the 2 German rounds in February. But IBU wouldn't like to go against the Australian Open i reckon.
  11. The story of this 16 year old Luke Littler is something else. Though, if you look at his stature, you wouldn't guess he is 16 . His run doesn't seem to end and is now leading Cross in the 1/2.
  12. Wait, so was this intentional or an accident Was he tagging behind her and then something happened or what?
  13. Preliminary entry list is out for the Euro, including USA for some reason. Don't they have their own continental championships some would ask. https://ewf.sport/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/BW.pdf
  14. The top 10 is out for Bulgarian Sportsperson of the year. The final ranking will be known next week on the 4th. You guys most likely know who these people are, so will skip writing their achievements Albert Popov (alpine skiing) Aleksander Vezenkov (basketball / Sacramento Kings) Aleksander Nikolov (volleyball / Lube Civitanova) Boryana Kaleyn (rhytmic gymnastics) Grigor Dimitrov (tennis) Yoana Ilieva (fencing) Karlos Nasar (weightlifting) Nurgyul Salimova (chess) Petar Mitsin (swimming) Stiliana Nikolova (rhytmic gymnastics)
  15. Is it Covid, or it wasn't specified? Fancy Amundsen now, but would be interesting of some non-Norwegian made a push for it.
  16. First ever women's event in Garmisch and we have 7 different countries in the top 7. The second round was very good with lots of nice jumps and frequent lead changes.
  17. A complete disaster for Norway right now, as all of their jumpers are losing the duels.
  18. The tradition here for many years was that gifts were given on New Years. This was true for my childhood as well. But in the last decade or so things changed and practically everyone does it on the 25th now.
  19. Happy Holidays to all members and their families Wishing lots of health and happy moments with the people you love.
  20. Albert with a fantastic 4th place after the first run, but in Madonna this doesn't mean much, since the gaps are so small. There is going to be some drama. I love skiing at night
  21. Looks like it's time to start boycotting teams again, which are associating with the CancerLeague..
  22. If you have thinking, that it's been a year without scandals in Bulgarian weightlifting, fear no more.. So, after a couple of attempts, including one stripped hosting 2 years ago, we are finally going to host the European Weightlifting Championships in February. It is of course included in the Olympic qualification calendar. All good so far. But on Friday, an adviser working for the Ministry of Sports was arrested for bribing the President of the weightlifting federation. He was asking for 30 k Euros from the President, so that the Ministry approves the funding of 600 k Euros for hosting the Euro Championships. This worker turned out to be the son of the National team coach. The next day, the coach himself - Ivan Ivanov, Olympic Champion 92, 4 times World Champion, was also arrested in suspicion of being an accomplice to his son.. The same National coach who has been on the helm for over a decade now and who the Federation have tried removing a few times in the past years. But every time the proposal of a new coach was brought up, almost all of the weightlifters, including Karlos Nasar, have said that they would boycott the National team, if Ivanov was not the coach. Given, that we have our biggest boom in the past 20 years, i'm not denying the work being done by Ivanov, but his relationship with the Federation was always very iffy. Not that those guys are some saints, not by any means, but you can never guess who's in the right. Let's see how things develop and if any charged will be pressed against him.
  23. Hi Sindo, yes it was the same when i signed out too. I checked through a different browser, which i don't typically use and all the forums appeared there. I cleared the cookies and data from my default browser and it fixed the problem. It appears, than when the arrows for collapsing / expanding the sections were removed, i had only the Winter Sports section expanded and that is the one, that stayed visible. The others, which were collapsed disappeared. Why did we get rid of those by the way? I found it very useful, because the pages were loading faster and then you could expand on the sub-forums you were looking for.
  24. Well that is an absurdly stupid thing to do. Didn't he know, that the American round is in March (jk)
  25. Maybe, but this isn't a problem for Bulgaria Everyone knows what's happening. Rutte was scapegoating this issue for years and years, sugarcoating and pleasing his voters to stay in power. Now that he is no longer in power, it doesn't concern him, so he can freely give his "blessing", just to do Wilders dirty. If Austria doesn't veto (but they will) Wilders doesn't have a say in it. If Austria vetoes, then next year Wilders can use it for his rhetoric anyway he wishes.
