  1. Yesterday was an amazing performance from Cambei Almost beat and it was on the fence until the very last attempt.
  2. Heptathlon about to start. Good luck to KJT
  3. The water doesn't look very sky blue
  4. If the IOC wants to take the cowardly approach and not historically distribute medals, because of their agendas, it's their problem. History can't be changed. There are enough historical documents, that show the legal successors of defunct states. The Baltic Republics keep their medals from the 20s and 30s, because they were independent countries back then. Afterwards they are occupied by Russia. They are no longer legal countries. Their athletes are willingly (or forcedly) competing for Russia, thus everything won is considered a Russian medal, until they again gain Independence as a separate country. It's funny how people still pretend, that the names "Soviet Union" and "Russia" are completely unconnected and one country didn't exist for 40 years and magically appeared from the 90s..
  5. Yes, East Germany isn't included in the historically accurate all time table, not only because of the double the athletes precedent, but because they were a runaway state. They formed their own Olympic Committee and were recognized as a separate country, while West Germany remained the legal successor of the previous unified Germany.
  6. OMG, people really need a history lesson, even though i have explained this a thousand times... There were no other entities, there were no legal countries until the Independences in the 90s. Doesn't matter what your ethnicity was, you were under the rule of Russia, doesn't matter if the hat was "Soviet Union". It's not the same as the European Union. They weren't Independent countries. If that isn't enough, on 31 January 1992, the United Nations recognized, without objection, Russia as legal successor of the rights and obligations of the former Soviet Union. https://web.archive.org/web/20031123143520/http://www.iaea.org/Publications/Documents/Infcircs/Others/inf397.shtml If Catalonia succeds in the future from Spain, would you say any medals from Catalonian athletes in the past shouldn't be counted for Spain? No, because at the time when they were won, they were part of Spain. That's why in the history books Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia etc. and their results are counted after they gained Independence.
  7. Germany doesn't include GDR, because the twice the athletes rule, but it has West Germany and Unified team included. Soviet Union was Russia so.... Be happy you are the 4th nation to reach the 1000th milestone.
  8. Fourth country to reach the 1000th milestone after US, Russia and Germany
  9. Hudson-Smith indeed lost it in the final 4 meters. Those were some dinosaur steps from Hall in the last 50 meters.
  10. Kaczmarek doesn't look able to contest for the win , but should be good for a medal.
  11. Newman seems very raunchy for a Canadian
  12. I'm somehow expecting an wrestler to jump the mat at any moment and contest for a medal.
  13. Props for Cambei for going toe to toe with Hou. Hope she can get a medal.
  14. Lyles not so impressive, just like in the 100 1/2 and he will probably breeze trough the final
  15. Why is the second 1/2 an hour earlier, then what the usual time was for the evening match? So it can completely be behind athletics and all the other finals happening? Another "fantastic" scheduling decision.
  16. Yes, i am very happy for him. Looked very relieved after the match, as that was some serious battle. Lady luck covered him too, as the wrestler had the upper hand most of the match. Iran is the favorite in the final of course, but whatever happens it is a big success.
  17. Cuba with 6 athletes in the triple jump by proxy
  18. I am lighting a candle, that we don't have joint medals in the pole vault
  19. A good day for Iran, as they make 2 more finals. Especially the 67 kg one was spectacular with a reverse pinfall, when the Iranian was counted out.
  20. Britain still has more cycling and athletics, but France has some events as well, so it will be close in the end. With the way Australia is going it inevitable they'd win something else as well Caudery really fumbled the pole vault and can probably give AUS another Gold in this battle.
  21. Ethan Hayter broke the bike or wtf happened at the end there Australia winning events everywhere today. Fairytale OG for them.
  22. That was some serious miracle work from . That match was in nowhere going their way.
  23. And Poland's dream is slipping away.
