  1. I only managed to watch the Grade IV yesterday. Deserved gold for Voets and silver for Riskalla. Riskalla had a couple costly errors, but even them he would have still scored silver as Voets presented better rhythm. Belgium got overscored for bronze with her flashy extensions. Should have been Louise Etzner Jakobsson all day long. The German was slightly underscored I felt.
  2. Joe Chamberlain-Biden living up to his name I guess.
  3. Only two swimming golds for China so far? Was there some classification scandal recently uncovered or what?
  4. Yeah, even without knowing any specific backstories, swimming really does look like the most uneven sport of the program in terms of classification.
  5. Historic results all around in Tokyo, for Joao Oliva at the Olympics and Rodolpho Riskalla today.
  6. Getting excited for the para dressage finals. Grade II should be a coin-toss between (formerly ) Puch and Pearson. Grade IV has Voets as the frontrunner, but Riskalla always presents a beautiful picture and could create an upset. Hosmar should win Grade V convincingly.
  7. Apparently the goalball arena had enough funds to rent exactly one (1) song.
  8. So I got my VPN.
  9. I guess FIBA was only checking the "validity" of teams who qualified via rankings.
  10. Not available here. That's nuts.
  11. Sadly, it appears that clowns from our national tv somehow got exclusive rights. Obviously they will not broadcast anything without Croatian interest, so my paralympic journey will end there...
  12. Rodeš injured and out for 2-3 months. He will probably start at the Olympics, but will not be very competitive.
  13. Netherlands are the new super power of equestrian. I wouldn't be surprised if they took 5-7 gold medals (as compared to only 1 from Rio).
  14. I guess he must have some connections there. He will be hard pressed to make the teams (outside of Nations Cup), though.
  15. But then again, just in terms of performing under pressure, direct qualifiers are much more compatible with the Olympic Games.
  16. That's why you have multiple direct qualifiers. Ranking qualifications always give advantage to those with more resources. Not to mention that there are sports whose rankings literally allow points farming (3x3 basketball, cycling etc).
  17. It's now or never. The pandemic is far from over, so this is a unique chance for qualification systems to replace ranking with direct tournament qualifications whenever possible. Probably not going to happen anyway, but oh well.
  18. Well, I am getting pretty excited for the first ever full coverage of para-dressage. Sadly, I will have to watch most of it on delay, except for the weekend team competition.
  19. Why would they aim to cheat here? It's not like junior worlds are the end-all-be-all event of athletics. Any remotely ambitious athlete aims far higher than that.
  20. Quick research shows he was in Croatia merely two weeks ago. Nice.
  21. Favorite athlete - Kelly Ann Fraser Pryce
  22. And without some other help too...
  23. Palma Čargo 3rd? Alright then, I approve of this new windsurfing class presented by Apple.
  24. He is.
  25. Definite entries for jumping are out. Riesenbeck will host it starting August 31. Teams - Individuals - Nominated entries for dressage are out too. Championships here start September 7. Teams - Individuals - Lithuania and Moldova will be making their debut. Lithuania has in fact qualified two (!) combinations. @Werloc Also, Bugan is back. @hckošice
