  1. Matea Samardžić retired with 23!
  2. http://www.bbc.com/sport/athletics/43259616 Finally a bit of details how the new ranking system will work
  3. Taekwondo One change in comparison to Rio 2016: only 5 qualification places via Olympic Ranking per Weight Category New: one place via Grand Slam Series The remaining places per continental qualification Taekwondo Tokyo 2020 Qualification System.pdf
  4. I think that is a very optimistic view. Derek does not have any chance in Tokyo, the world cups are not really big quality competitions and winning there does not mean anything. Srbic for sure has some potential, but first he needs to qualify which is for individual athletes not that easy. they changed the qualification procedure to favor a bit more the specialists, but still it will depend on very few competitions.
  5. Matej Vidovic has won the European cup in Slalom, means a fixed place in World Cup for next season.
  6. Maybe, but they plan to change the qualification in athletics completely. There will not be an entry standard but qualification will be via ranking
  7. 1st place for Martin Markovic at the European Throwing Cup in discus throw (U23) with 63,24m This is his personal best and 26cm short of the entry standard for ECH in Berlin. Matija Greguric was 4th in Hammer Throw (U23) with 69,92m. Tomorrow start Bartul Zemunik in javelin, Anamari Kozul in hammer throw and Marija Tolj in discus (all U23) Important to mention that the condition were not the best, it was relatively cold 15C, and it was raining until just before the competition
  8. I think limitation to one country is good, as there are several disciplines. This is really stupid idea. If they do it in canoeing then they have to do it in rowing as well and maybe few other sports, and for slalom canoeing as well. Why not having then more than one competitor per nation in wrestling, taekwando, judo etc.
  9. Sandra Perkovic opens season with 68,44m in Split yesterday despite cold and bad weather. few other her promising results: Marija Tolj 57,90m in discuss as well, she is last year junior and qualifies for the ECH in Berlin with this throw. Martin Markovic , former junior world champion, finally again over 60m in discus and Matija Greguric, former youth world champion in hammer, over 70m. So so far we have five athletes qualified for Berlin: Perkovic, Tolj, Simic (high jump) , Horvat (pole vault) and Zunic (shot put).
  10. Both were last year still juniors, therefore chances rather low but you never know but Loncaric brothers are in the same discipline as sinkovics, therefore if at all they will have to move m4 and with girls the first precondition is that they stay together
  11. Maybe it is even enough to win in Romania to advance to 2nd round but what then? I don’t think with this team we can win against Hungary and Poland, not to mention Lithuania
  12. Taekwando G1 Slovenia Open: 1st places: Lovre Brecic (M-63), Kristina Beros (F-62), Ivan Sapina (M-87), Marko Mutak (M-74) 2nd places: Bruna Vuletic (F-57) did not fight in the final, Luka Turkalj (M-54), Kristina Tomic (F-49), Paola Strascek (F-46) 3rd places: Marija Pavic (F-73), Nives Kerner (F-62), Helana Mrzljak (F-62), Lucija Abramovic (F-46), Matija Ruzic (M-80), Luka Mavracic (M+87) Nikita Glasnovic was in Egypt (G-2) but lost in QF, which means again no points for her, somehow since she represents Croatia no results Her brother is competing today.
  13. 2nd place for Barbara Matić at the Judo grand prix In Düsseldorf
  14. Eto već otpade košarka za tokio
  15. prerano, pa jos nisu ni objavili kako idu kavlifikacije za vecinu sportova ali ti slobodno pisi, nema ovde nekih pravila
  16. if at all then novakovic in flat water and marinic in slalom but will be very difficult,
  17. 2nd medal for Croatia at the Shooting ECH in Hungary yesterday our junior team in men 10 m air rifle won silver (non-olympic) Today Petar Gorsa won bronze in 10m air rifle. Pejcic just secured the final in the same discipline
  18. Shooting European ch just going on in Hungary this week
  19. Very good weekend fro Matej Vidovic at European Cup in Jaun (SUI) On Friday he won, yesterday he was 2nd. He is now leading the overall slalom cup in EC, as there are two races left it looks very good that he will secure an fixed place for SL in the next WC season. He has to be in the top 3. he has 140 points more than the 4th. If this works out we could have 4 places at the beginning of next season in SL. Elias Kolega was 11th and 12th, Rodes 17th and 18th. They are now on the way to South Korea for the Olympic slalom.
  20. Fencing is almost impossible as the qualification system prefers teams which we don’t have archery: ranking normally does not matter, the results of 3 completions will decide badminton: yes he would in right now but it is still far away from qualification period which will probably start only mid 2019 new sports in comparison to rio maybe could be canoe sprint and slalom, hopefully karate and sport climbing and finally equestrian again. and of course football, we have a great generation but let’s see. At the same time we could lose some sports. Basketball is seriously in danger, maybe diving and weightlifting as well
  21. Taekwando another G1 tournament in Turkey (Turkish Open), 10 points for winner Medal winners for Croatia M-74 1. Toni Kanaet, 3. Piero Maric M-80 1. Luka Horvat M-87 1. Hrvoje Sep; M87+ 2. Vedran Golec F-53: 1. Tanja Rastovic, 2. Dora Maric F-57: 2. Bruna Vuletic F-62: 3. Kristina Beros F-73: 3. Iva Rados But there some negative results as well: Lovro Brecic and Deni Rezic were eliminated early in M-63, same as Kristina Tomic in F-49. In F-57 both Marija Stetic and Nikita Glasnovic lost to a Dutch fighter, which was in Semi beaten by Bruna by 20-1! This is going to be really interesting iro selection of National team for the European Championship in May. They have changed the criteria and now it will be very much up to the national team coach. The only criteria is that fighters with medals from last European and World Championship will be treated in a preferred way. In case they stick to that then following would be "save" F-49 Tomic, F-57 Glasinovic, F-67 Jelic F-73 Rados and M-74 Kanaet By selecting this way poor Bruna Vuletic is without chance in F-57, Marija Stetic could maybe go back to F-62 ( anyway don't understand her move to F-57, after Glasinovic moved to Croatia). The most interesting fight will be in M-63 between Rezic and Brecic, although one of them could go to M-68. And in F-53 we have Rastovic and Maric but after today Rastovic is in a much better position.
  22. And we lost to Sweden, there is still some theoretical chance to be among the best two, I think first place is mission impossible. But even being second does not guarantee qualification as you still need to be among best six 2nd. I guess Italy will win against Sweden as they play in Italy, then we "just" need to beat Italy in Croatia and 2nd place is probably safe. Other option, Sweden beats Italy and we beat Italy, but this is not very probable. I really don't get how we can beat Italy and lose two times against Sweden.
  23. Lets first beat Sweden Today Zlatko Kumric was 5th in Judi Grand Slam in Paris He lost in Semi and then also his fight for bronze, but had 3 wins before. New 360 ranking points for him.
  24. Woman basketball qualification for ECH: Croatia wins with impressive 61 points difference in Macedonia. The crucial game is on Wednesday away against Sweden, if they win they will have good chances for 1st or 2nd place in the group (home game against Italy would decide), otherwise they will be probably out. The new taekwando season has started. Friday/Saturday there was the European Team Championship (G1)in Turkey with few of our fighters participating and winning medals: Male -87: 2. Ivan Sapina 3. Dinko Segedin Female -49: 3. Kristina Tomic Female -57: 2. Marija Stetic Female -62: 2. Kristina Beros Female -73: 2. Doris Pole Unfortunately no medals for Deni Rezic, Luka Horvat and Vedran Golec. This week there is the Turkish Open (G1) where the whole national team will participate and a good chance to start collecting the 40 ranking points which can ge obtained as maximum from G1/G2 tournaments per season. Next tournament for majority of national team will be in Slovenia then.
