Oh I didn't knew that there was actually a real law for that! Well, in that case I undersant (don't agree, but different countries, diferent rules, so I respect).

Is the law reffering to going to Israel only, or it has also something about facing an opponent from that country?

Btw, has ever been any situation where Israel and Iran had to face in any team sports?

the law is only about traveling to Israel but Iranian athletes never face Israelis even though there is no written low against it. they won't be jailed if they do but I suppose they won't be in the national team anymore. in this case Alireza Jahanbakhsh is not representing Iran but a Dutch club so I think it will be fine for him to play the home match even though I'm not sure, one of our former NT player once played an Israeli team while he was in Sturm Graz (Austria) and nothing bad happened to him, it was 16 years ago though.

After the 1979 revolution I can remember 3 times Iran and Israel had to face in team sports (twice in Paralympics) but Iran always found a way to refuse.

What happens on this situations, if the team needs the player and he refuses to go? Will he be punished/fired? :mumble:

They need him, he is a starter there but He won't go to Israel, he will be jailed in Iran if he go. this is officially illegal and considered a crime. (I'm not even sure if Israel give him visa) I think his club understands this otherwise he is in trouble.

the only question is the home match in the Netherlands, since he is not representing Iran that's probably possible for him to play but I'm not sure.

UEFA Europa League group stage draw

Group D: Zenit (RUS), AZ Alkmaar (NED), Maccabi Tel-Aviv (ISR), Dundalk (IRL)

well, it means our Iranian player in AZ is in big big trouble, he won't go to Israel that's for sure. I don't know what he will do with the home match in the Netherlands.

He is the 3rd Iranian player facing this problem.

What would you have expected him to do? throw away the flag? :d

    Good question, I don't know. :d

btw what happened to Romanian sport, I was checking the final medal table and I was really surprised to see some sporting nations like Romania, Belarus, Ukraine and Poland lower than us and we are not even happy about our results :d

  5. wow, that was quick, I knew Yazdani wasn't mentally ready for the repechage but still this guy wasn't in his level. he used the element of surprise to pin Yazdani so quick. :( 3 olympcis and no medal for one of our best ever wrestler. he won medal in almost every tournament he entered except these 3 Olympics.

so this is it, only 8 medals . :(

  6. At least they accepted this one on Franklin Gomez

the funny thing is they said nothing about the Jury, who has to review the video request, as far as I know that guy who also screw up our wrestler is from Uzbekistan !! this is funny to use him in a match involving an Uzbekistani wrestler. one word corruption

I will definitely watch this match since i haven't see it (our tv didn't show)

But didn't referee give 30 seconds to Yazdani and the referee's whistle meant the end of that 30 second rather than of the 1st period?

that 30 seconds caution happend before this, (even though one can question that caution too, Gaz was the passive wrestler there) but this is another action, Yazdani was 1-0 down at the time. he wasn't on shot clock.

btw this comment shows you don't know the rule in this sport ! because when the wrestler on 30-seconds shot clock is attacking and is about to score they don't stop the match and let the action continue even if that 30 seconds clock expires.

I didn't see that match, but i am sorry if there was poor decision of the referee in this match :(. As far as I know Iranian guy only scored 1 point due and it was warning to Gazyumov, so i will doubt your words regarding the gold medal in the pocket :)

By the way, i must say we are very bad owners of the UWW since we even don't have gold medal in men wrestling so far :d:d:d

Only two wrestlers could beat Yazdani today, Boltukaev and Gazyumov. they were bad matchup for Yazdani while for example Snyder could be easy him even Americans know that. the Russian didn't bring his drugs to Rio therefore lost easily. Gazyumov is big and strong, it's always hard to score against him specially when he is defending the entire 6 minutes. I'm talking about the last action in 1st period. Yazdani had the control, Gazyumov's knee clearly touched the mat which means 2pts takedown. I have the picture of that action I just don't know how to post it here, his knee clearly touched the mat. only the center referee from Finland gave 2pts.

yes no gold yet That's exactly why they are helping your wrestlers today.

btw Yazdani got injured badly few months ago, he is still seriously injured, I just hope he come and wins this bronze medal to end his great career with an Olympic medal. 4 years ago in London he was on his way to the gold but got injured against the same Ukrainian guy he is supposed to wrestle in bronze medal match today, if he wins repechage matches.

Have their even been some fair winners? :p

yeah somtimes when the gap was bigger than 2-3 points, there were also some dubious calls in Chamizo-Asgarov match, but can't say for sure , has to watch the reply first.

freestyle officiating was better until today, not completely though and I didn't even watch all the matches.

I have absolutely no idea why they wouldn't send the silver medalist from 2015 instead.

Gadisov and the rest of Dagistani wrestlers boycotted their nationals, Boltukaev destroyed everybody to the title, they didn't give Gadisov another chance since he lost before in other international tournament.

Boltukaev was great in pre-Olympic matches but now here under serious doping control, he gasses easily.

  11. what a mistake by our coach, why the hell you are challenging a decision against Azerbaijan ? they own UWW. they will NEVER change decision against Azerbaijan. Gazyumov's knee touched the mat and Yazdani got robbed, but we knew how it works.

with Boltukaev losing ,Yazdani had gold medal in his pocket winning this one. :(

  12. lol what a quick day for Nasiri. worst defense ever, we had a gold medal caliber wrestler in this weight in Ahmad Mohammadi . they forced him to wrestle this guy when he was injured, made his injury much worse and therefore killed our chance for a possible gold. that's why I hate this "trial" system. when you know who is better, just send him to the Olympics.

  13. Today was the first time I watched almost an entire Modern Pentathlon competition, seriously I never want to disrespect any sport but honestly the running/shooting part was like a circus ! some people were running to the left, some to the right. just inches away from each other :d I wonder if all those fans in stadium could understand what the hell is happening and where is the finish line !
