  1. The mens team is fairly new look .................. except Amit who is both an asian games and asian championship medallist kavinder was a quarter finallist in the last world championship so there is some pedigree ................... and satish is still going strong .......... but the rest are fairly new so definitely this is probably a good sign
  2. Indias Boxing world championship squad Panghal (52kg) Kavinder Singh Bisht (57kg), Manish Kaushik (63kg), Duryodhan Singh Negi (69kg), Ashish Kumar (75kg), Brijesh Yadav (81kg), Sanjeet (91kg), and Satish Kumar (+91kg)
  3. starting day after tomorrow ....... India team Panghal (52kg) Kavinder Singh Bisht (57kg), Manish Kaushik (63kg), Duryodhan Singh Negi (69kg), Ashish Kumar (75kg), Brijesh Yadav (81kg), Sanjeet (91kg), Satish Kumar (+91kg)
  4. Earth to Sanjay ....... bro are you in a reality warp.........do look at the rankings and the criteria for qualification ....... surely we will have 2 qualifiers ( the only variable is injury to Saina- if it gets worse she may miss out ) in both Mens and Womens singles .... and most likely in all 3 doubles
  5. And I thought Heywoodu was just a masochistic Brazilian ...... Keeps slapping himself with paddles
  6. I think that what you are saying may be an overstatement , the points currently in BWF race to olympic rating is all completely jumbled as some players have 4 tournaments they have played till now and some have upto 10 so making sense of the ranking is incorrect , Saina has played only 4 and her ranking is low ( and comparing her score with players who have players 7-8 does not make any sense ).......... If you see number 3 currently is Michelle Li and Tai is 9 ( Li gets that rank as she has played 8 tournaments and Tai only 4 ) so these ranks would dramatically change when all players cross 10 and are even ........
  7. The ranking closes in apr of 2020 .... if she does well in two or three major tournaments she can easily come into top 16 and qualify ..... i personally feel she will
  8. What a remarkable world cup for india ....... and year for India in pistol and rifle 1st WC - 3-0-0 rank jt first 2nd WC 3-1-0 rank first 3rd WC 5-1-0 rank first 4th WC 5-2-2 rank first ....... we are getting better ..... of course in many events top shooters may have been shooting in MQS ..... but still a remarkable achievement... I hope they can carry this thru to 2020 and Rio .....a perfect WC at rio after the disaster at Rio in 2016 with a horrible 0-0-0 in shooting
  9. qualifiers into the Quarters - MIX PISTOL TUR*2 IND*2 CHN UKR HUN SRB
  10. India 1 and India standing at 3,4 in the qualification round with just a few shots left ...sure to qualify
  11. and both Indian Pairs in Mixed Pistol seem to be sure to qualify into the quarters ....... with India winning Gold in both Mens and womens 10M pistol and a bronze in mens 10M pistol and tje fourth shooter Manu bhaker would have been 2nd in the qualification ( she shot in the MQS ) so both teams should do well
  12. yes ......both Indian team won ....... Gold and Bronze
  13. really unusual position to be in for India I must say ........Rifle / Pistol is the first sports since hockey in the 60s that we are dominating and thats just 2019 .....so enjoying every minute of it ........................................ reminds me of how IRA must feel during the wrestling world cups ( GRECO / FREESTYLE MEN )
  14. I know top 8 ................... equivalent to finals in other event but they call it qualification 2 or Quarterfinals if you prefer in this event ...................
  15. yes !!!!!!!! both Indian Teams in MIX RIFLE reach the finals ....................The mixed events seems to be where we are doing the very best
  16. how come IRAN did not send rowers to the worlds or did I misread this
  17. A poor performance by the Judo team .... the only person to win a bout was avtar singh in the 100 Kgs ........... and he was a bit unlucky to meet Jorge of portugal in the next round who went on to win the gold ....... This is a sport I believe we could do much better than we are doing it is a low cost sport like wrestling or boxing
  18. IN SINGLE SCULLS ( 5 PLACES AT THE ASIANS ) the countries which did better than us in order at the world champs KAZ UZB KOR THAI IRA has very good rowers in Mens Single and did not participate at the worlds , they will surely particicipate in the asians , unless the Indians improve we will not have a singe sculls quota as only the top 5 get quotas ( china cannot particpate of course at the asians ) IN DOUBLE SCULLS ( 3 QUOTA PLACES IN ASIANS ) on the other hand in the lightweight double sculls the countries which did better than us were CHN , JAP, HKG ,.,..... CHN cannot particicpate so we could be in the third place unless IRA or KAZ or KOR particicpate and they have a better team so we have some chance in the DOUBLE and less chance in SINGLES there is a good chance based on the performance we had this world rowing we may not have a single qualifier for rowing , qualification in both events looks highly unlikely
  19. but china did not participate in single sculls ........ so we are 5th without china and Iran will 100% be btter than us so we will be at 6th unless we do a lot better than we did here
  20. Fairly disastrous performance in rowing we finsihed in 25-35 range in all the events .....we used be occassionally in the 12-18 or 18-24 range but tis time nothing ......... looking towards the asian qualifiers - In single sculls we finished 5th amongst asian countries at the worlds ( there are 5 slots at the asian regattta ) but with iran not participating here .... we are effectively 6th In the lightweight mens pair we finished 4th in Asian nations and we may not have a berth as there are 3 berthsat the asians ...........but china cannot participate in the asians , so we are effectively third we do have a chance , but its going to be tough
