  1. Indian TT is definitely on the rise ....... unimaginable for an Indian to reach qtrs at the asian level just a few years back 15 of the top 20 players are asian so almost at the world championship level , I do not know if the pts of this add to world ranking but would love for sathiyan break into the top 20 soon
  2. I am really hoping to see Deepak do well , he is a wrestker I have been following since the cadets , and at just 18 he is phenomenally talented and has been in good form as he won the junior gold ( Indias first ) but still a junior so lacks the power of some of the seniors but still keeping my fingers crossed
  3. India was really lucky that amit won the bout in the 52 Kgs against the Kazakh boxer .....Amit really pummelled him left right and center and the Kazakh looked like a kid still two judges saw this as a win for the Kazakh .... i wonder which fight they were seeing , lucky that 3 saw it in favor of the Indians ....... I think to win against the Kazakhis you need to literally KO them and possibly you can win ..... The dice are loaded against you ....... any way Our first finalist ever AMIT
  4. Break up KAZ -6 /8 UZB - 5 /8 .... I believe this is unrealistic and corrupt ..... I remember one world Championships huge medals going to UKR or GEO, now they arent in the picture .... In no other sport due you see this sudden shifts of A world dominant Nation which points to systemic corruption Next group are ENG, CUB, RUS with 3 each which I do believe is realistic giving that they are traditional powers I would love to see the results at the Olympic qualifiers and see the results of top 2 .....
  5. Sanjay I think each person has their own interests and focus, so if you say you want to focus on these sports that is your choice.... For some sports fans here the interest may not be solely linked to medals...... I would love to see some significant improvements this Olympic year...... For example A fencing qualification or an A std in swimming would make me really happy too
  6. Gum was three kgs above mirabai...... Fairly narrow A single lift missed by her or one good lift by mirabhai would have reversed the order..........difference between 4thand 5th was so huge there seems to be no one even close.... So it seems as sure A medal as can be at Tokyo . .... The Chinese lifter is far ahead so it is between mira and gum for silver or bronze as long as they do not do a stupid no lift
  7. Crossed 200 for the first time and solid performance..... With China almost surely only nominating one of the two for Tokyo .... This is a virtual 3rd ...... Some dependency on what Thailand does now, they may want to participate in Tokyo with one place
  8. Sushil for India a legend ..... Coming back after the Commonwealth Games.... Unfortunately in the toughest draw
  9. The match refrees are utter crap, KAZ are famous cheats and they proved it again and again, the famous AIBA home court play comes to wrestling in a big way
  10. Got the analysis quite right here ........ Sanjeet was just too slow against Castillo but it was close , Kavinder was agressive ( unlike his earlier bouts ) but his punches did not land accurately and hence lost .....
  11. pooja Dhanda likely in 59
  12. Today's Boxing prediction as per me...... In the QF Amit -shuld win - faces carlo palem of PHI Kavinder faces Peter Mcgrail and the world no 4 has been in good touch, while kavinder seeded 5th has not been fluent - very tough Sanjeet faces ECU boxer Castillo, castillo is in great form but Sanjeet has demolished the world no 2 UZB boxer and cleared the seeded boxer so he has the edge Kaushik faces wanderson of Brazil and is really boxing well, again having cleared the world no 4 MGL has an edge Boxing results can go up and down, India has always had QF phobia .... Remember 2008 Beijing and last yr 3 QF boxer only one reached SF.... But this yr I feel 3 or at least 2 should reach semis........ A huge improvement for us ( we have always had just 1 semi finalist for the last few events)
  13. What a day for Indian boxing all four in the pre quarters reached quarters......... Amit demolished the TUR boxer pretty easily a 5:0 boxing lesson, kavinder against a unranked FIN started well ......round 1,2 he was well ahead but had a poor 3rd and came ahead 3:2 ...... Manish was really impressive against a 4th seeded MGL, he is really fast, won a fine 5:0 , Sanjeet I was really impressed by, he was really good against world no 2 UZB...... A real 4:1 thrashing which should have been 5:0 IMHO
  14. Good analysis, went exactly as you said.... Mukaida was in breathtaking form...... Her sweeping VSU against Sarah also tells me that vinesh has a chance against Sarah............should she beat the rest which she can do...... Seema seems quite sure of quota tomorrow I think ...... So I dream of two quotas and a medal
  15. Japanese are not very formidable in boxing ...... Sulejmani has reached round of 16 ..... To reach QF he has to face a seeded player and no 7 is the best you can get.... So wishing him luck....... I did feel flissi was unlucky but sulejmani is reasonably good
  16. That is a disastrous draw for vinesh especially ........................
  17. Greco Roman Finally ended ......comparatively Decent results today , both manish ( 60 ) and gurpreet ( 77 ) won a bout ....... add that to ravi ( 97 ) , So one of the first objectives was met that they win a few bouts at least , second wish was they reach the quarters that did not happen , Manish and Ravi reached the pre quarters , Gurpreet was the pick of the greco from India , he lost a close bout to nemes who was the world champion in 2017 ......... so that was a moral win .......
  18. ., Kavinder wins in Boxing....... Sourabh wins Vietnam open men's singles, Lakshya wins belgium open the..... Greco still not great news..... 2 did not win their first bout..... Ravi in 97 won a bout ( and finished in the road of 16)
  19. The ittf YouTube channel is having live streaming..... LIVE 2019 ITTF-ATTU Asian Championships | DAY 1 - LIVE YouTube · Official ITTF Channel 3 hours ago
  20. The Greco last year 2018 we won a single bout ....... I still believe we will do better this time....... I am still hopeful for one QF - Gyanender and Gurjeet may be best bets - it would be a huge achievement which can galvanize Greco in India
  21. Nice to see saurabh back in form at the shooting national trials, he broke his own finals world record of 248.3 by scoring 248.8in the 10m pistol finals......... He is in sublime form this year 2 golds and a bronze....... Hope he can maintain this form into Tokyo
  22. Greco tragedy: all 4 wrestlers at the world champs lost without winning a bout
  23. Yes it was a close... Flissi is a talented boxer
  24. Well India went 2-1 in the round of 32, Manish and Amit won but ashish lost a close 3-2 decision, but in a shocker India - Kazakh volleyball
  25. Good point MQS is deceptive. .....NRAI has recently started allowing people to self sponsor for MQS ...... earlier it was purely sponsored by the association and barring the top few no one was allowed to go
