Yes that’s fine. The rule is just to give courtesy in the first days to allow enough time for users to see the new thread and is especially aimed at nations who traditionally have multi-jury members so that one member doesn’t turn up on day 1 and select the song. If another jury member registered for Sweden you would both discuss your already chosen entry and agree whether to keep it or not. And honestly, I think you will have no issues as I don’t think another Swede will register. It’s generally just you in the Swedish jury these days. Hope this helped

In the previous edition of the contest it was discussed that multi jury members sometimes missed the boat before an entry was already chosen for their nation by another member of their national jury. In light of this, to allow fair time for multi jury members to see the thread and register their interest, we have decided that the song selection window won’t open until this Friday, September 23rd. There is also new guidance for multi juries in the rules about allowing some time as a form of courtesy to other member of their national jury to help select their song. 3. (b) In cases where 2 or more members from the same nation register to participate in the contest, they must work together by private message to agree upon the song and artist they wish to represent their nation in the contest. If one of those members already chose the song and artist for their nation before the other members registered for the contest, the newly registered members have the right to re-visit the selection made for their nation. All members from that nation should work together to agree on the chosen representative. This must be completed before the official song entry registration deadline. Any outstanding concerns can be brought to the attention of the organising committee by private message to seek a fair solution if needed. For these reasons, it is recommended that users from nations that often have multiple jury members to give a reasonable amount of time to allow their fellow jury members to register, as a form of courtesy for their fellow jury members. This may help to avoid situations where there is a disagreement in the chosen representative and reduce the amount of occasions when the chosen song / artist needs to be changed.

A classic but sadly it didn’t make the final. A lot of my favourite winners from the early days didn’t make the final. “Après Toi” and “Tu Te Reconnaîtras” that won for Luxembourg in 1972 and 1973 are two of my favourite Eurovision songs and neither made the final.

Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi 5. Fairytale 6. Hold Me Now 7. The Voice 8. Euphoria I can’t remember the rest though. There were 25 finalists and a few non-winners were in the final. Modern winners and entries did not do well except Fairytale and also Euphoria which had just won the contest that year.

I was doing some research on which nations might be eligible for Tripartite invitation places for Paris 2024 should the same criteria be used this time round as previously. The tripartite eligibility criteria for Tokyo 2020 was such that invitation places would only be allocated to NOCs with an average of 8 or fewer athletes in individual sports / disciplines in the previous 2 editions of the Olympics (London and Rio). This means 92 NOCs in total were eligible for tripartite invitation quotas. So if we use the same criteria this time, a total of 94 NOCs would be eligible. Botswana, Kosovo and Pakistan would no longer be eligible in this Olympic cycle as they have gone above the average of 8 individual athletes at the previous 2 editions. On the otherhand, 5 nations that were ineligible last time would now be eligible in this Olympic cycle: Congo, Cook Islands, El Salvador, Iceland, Lebanon. Obviously this isn't anything official, I am just speculating based on previous criteria but it's fun to look at such things, right? Czech your passports people....TISC Open 2022 is coming!! It is my great pleasure to formally announce Czech Republic as the host of TISC Open 2022! . Congratulations @Hipooo on your new role as TISC host. It is the 19th edition of the Totallympics International Song Contest and the first to be hosted in the Czech Republic, following in the footsteps of their neighbours Slovakia, Poland and Hungary. Thank you for taking up the mantle of TISC host and best of luck with the organisation, we are all behind you! Hopefully you will be able to draw in some of your fellow Czech users to the contest for their home edition No definite plans are in place as of yet as to a schedule but it seems like the Grand Final could take place in the first weekend in November. But that is just a provisional date. This means we will be looking at opening up the TISC thread in mid to late September. We will be following the general plan of having 2 weeks for registrations/song selections, 2 weeks for voting and 2 weeks of preparation time for organisers to prepare the templates for the Grand Final. As always, that is just a general guide and if more time is needed by the host to prepare and organise then that is fine. One change I am thinking of however is spawned from the most recent edition when concerns were raised around multi-member juries and some users from those nations not being given enough time to notice the thread and help select their nation's entry. So to help ease that concern a little we will open the thread 1 week early and keep it closed to song selections, but allow people to register their interest to say they want to take part. I have sent an invitation to @Hipooo to confirm if we will host the upcoming TISC Open 2022 edition in Czech Republic, the current TISC Open Champions. We will wait to hear back for an update before confirming the next steps

I have to say how much I have enjoyed our former 400m star David Gillick interviewing our athletes after their performances. He always hits the right note and is professional whilst also understanding of the achievements and disappointments as a former athlete who had his ups and downs. Hopefully we get more like him in our national coverage of sport going forward.

Well I am an athletics fan through and through. If there’s a championships, I’ll most likely be watching But for me, those championships taking place just before the Olympics will be a chance to see our next generation of talent who can’t make the Olympics in 2024. But it’s probably more important for those young stars to do well at the juniors than a watered down European senior championships.

The athletics have been great.... finally feels like those European championships that used to be held every 4 years. When they moved to every 2 years they lost some importance, at least in my eyes, but this somehow recaptured that feeling of an important championships. I watched only rowing, gymnastics and athletics and a bit of cycling but it was enjoyable. Going to miss tuning into athletics every evening (been spoiled with Worlds, Commonwealths and Europeans on our screens here for the past few weeks).
